My office is giving everyone a free hour long massage. The bonus is that it is while we are on the clock getting paid!! I love my job right now.

    Dear Paralegals,

If I tell you that the way you want me to do something is not the most efficient way for it to be done, please do not respond to my suggestions by completely ignoring them and then asking me to do it in an even less efficient way. Also, thank you for assuming that I don't know how to do my job.

    Sincerely,
    The Librarian

I think you should start a rhythm section and see what response you get.

If if I have a meeting and a touchbase scheduled at the same time, which one gets priority?

You should post more of these nuggets. That one looks like it should have something about Nigeria, a dead uncle, and a bank account in the body.

I just got a meeting planner for a "short huddle" in admin concerning "weekend staffing challenges". I want a football to bring with me.

I thought about it, or putting in a request for a certain jam. Thriller was at the top of my choices to see how it would go, I just put on my headphones instead.

I have decided to do nothing constructive for the rest of the day. I am weighing options of taking a nap on my office couch, then zoning out till 3, or reading the game manual for Fable III, then zoning out till 3.

So what you are both saying is, that instead of using "no pun intended", you wish office conversations went more like:

"Amy, all the gossip about that scandal between you and our married celebrity client is really getting blown out of proportion. And, we all think you are a whore."

if it takes you 40 minutes to explain a fucking decision matrix, it's not a "high level overview". so stop saying "high level". it's not.

my work is slowly becoming the epittemy of "Office Space". when i make a mistake, i seriously have to explain it to about 4-5 different "bosses" just like in the movie.

they've also decided they aren't making enough money, so they're trying to squeeze every last drop of productivity out of everyone...but at the same time, they cut the amount of % you're allowed to get as a raise in half and made it really hard just to even qualify for a raise. "so if initech ships a few extra modules and makes more money, i don't see a penny"...just like in the movie.

they've also moved all of us around like crazy. i'm in my 4th desk in 6 months. i'm just waiting for someone to come by and say "yeeeeah, we're gonna need you to pack up your stuff and move it to the basement. yeeeeah."...just like in the movie.

needless to say, i'm looking for a new job asap.

this happens all the time at my work..and they aren't just waiting at the doors blocking your way out...they actually push their way on the elevator before i've even been able to get out. assholes.

One of my new coworkers looks like a very round captain kangaroo. Which I didn't notice till someone else pointed it out. Now whenever he stops to talk to me I can't help but giggle a little.

jason, the review compensation thing is ridiculous. i'm just glad i have an awesome boss. did you hear they laid off marketing people? it's an interesting time at the company for sure. my department has not seen this much change EVER. in the past few years, we've had WAY too many federal requirements change. higher education act, direct lending, 13 freaking final rules... at least it gives me some security... for now

AND STOP SINGING/TALKING TO YOURSELF AT YOUR DESK!!!!

hahaha...i dont sing at my desk. but i do turn it up so loud that everyone around can hear it....thru my headphones. lol

yeah, there is a lot of shakedowns happening right now. i'm working with some marketing people right now that were telling me about what happen to their dept. and IT isn't doing any better...there are rumors that there will be a 2nd round of layoffs. i'm pretty sure i'm safe, but still gonna start exploring options. i dont have to put up with the way this company is behaving right now.

We had a agency renting one of our studios today and while I was making CDs to ship for duping, I got to overhear a conference call with a most wonderful account executive who knows nothing about the business he's working in.

He wants to cut costs on the editing of a tv commercial for a pitch and asked if it would be cheaper if the editor came in at night. When responded with the fact that because of overtime it would actually cost more, he said, "NO I MEAN I WANT HER TO DO IT ON HER OWN TIME AND BYPASS HER COMPANY!"

I'm sure there's tons of recent film school grads willing to take a lot of abuse for free to have something to put on their fucking reel.

So, I just forwarded my boss an org announcement that includes notice of me moving to totally different group.
I assume you are apprised of this. I think itís kind of awkward that Iím moving out of my current role and nobody from our line of business has mentioned itÖAnyway, itís been a pleasure working with you where our paths have crossed. Iíve been very lucky to be part of such an awesome and high-quality team.
    -Wes
Long story short, Iíve been promoted to a pretty cool finance position and now have a team of 4 domestically, and 4 in India reporting to me. Should be interesting.
