This morning, I brought myself a prepackaged Trader Joe's salad for lunch.

Ten minutes ago, I went to the fridge to eat my salad.

My salad wasn't there.

WHO FUCKING STEALS SOMEONE ELSE'S PREPACKAGED LUNCH FROM THE FRIDGE!?

Is it rude of me if I put a note on the fridge asking whomever ate it to come reimburse me for my lunch? That was $5 wasted.

You can put a note up but then the thief will look like an even bigger asshole after confessing, so don't count on anyone saying anything. But if I were you I'd do a little cruise around the office floor checking trash bins for the packaging.

union bargaining activity for today: we are supposed to turn in a request to review our personnel files to our managers today. Ostensibly to make sure the records are correct, but since a bunch of union members are doing it, we are just bugging the managers and keeping them busy with useless bullshit.

I just signed up for strike duty. We don't know until midnight Saturday if we will go on strike next week, but signing up for strike duty makes it seem more real somehow. Come honk at me next week Monday and Tuesday mid-day at Central in Thomas, Phoenix people.

I finally had to have a conversation with the coworker I ran into at the adult toy shop the other night. It was just as awkward as I expected it to be. The plus side is he referred to his girlfriend as his lady now, only because I yell at him whenever he calls her his ole lady.

Re: my union's contract renegotiations, my union's contract with my employer (the phone company) expired Saturday at midnight, but we did not go on strike. We are working day-to-day on an expired contract because my union feels we may still be able to negotiate a contract. HOWEVER, there are 4 suspicious tour-sized buses that have been parked on the street all week, and the feeling among my co-workers is the company has workers stashed in those buses to come out and attempt to do our jobs if we go on strike.

The company keeps offering insulting proposals like bringing back off-shore work only if they can create a new job title paying ONE THIRD our existing salary to new people who come into our work groups, which means there will be a new two-tiered salary and no one will want to transfer to different departments.

Good luck with your strike (don't be surprised when the company files for bankruptcy). I'm preparing a training for at-risk-youth - how to write resumes/interview. I would love to just tell them the truth - that in 5 years 99% will be either dead, pregnant, incarcerated, addicts... and 1% will be working for $9 an hour. sigh

re: my union stuff, someone asked a person who came out of one of the buses what the buses were there for, and apparently there is a film crew staying at/filming at the Hilton. My union rep remains skeptical.
