I only just heard this for the first time this weekend but I heard it no less than 7 times from 4 different people. But here is an example

i hadnt smoked cali weed in a minute and i smoked a ton in the 'lab and went to sleigh bells. jesus christ that was waay too much. sounded like chainsaws on metal. Gobi speakers were way too loud. had to go back to the lab to regain my senses. that was nuts.
anyone else think sleigh bells was crazy loud?

the phrase isn't "in a minute." "a minute" has had a slang meaning for really any length of time but particularly a long period of time for about a decade now.

I disagree. I heard this phrase no less than 8 times from 4 different people over the course of the last 48 hours. The worst was this guy who I hadn't seen in about 2 years and he sees me and says, "Hey man! I haven't seen you in a minute!" and I just felt like he had stabbed my soul with a knife.

I heard this phrase a lot when I was in Virginia. I was driving somewhere on the freeway and my friend was giving me directions and said, "You're gonna turn right in a minute..." so of course I immediately start trying to get into the right lane and was looking at exit signs and then she said, "Oh no! I mean like in a long minute. A long while. About 20 more minutes." That is fucking confusing.
