It is quite poisonous to you, is WAY more impairing of your abilities to safely operate a vehicle than ANY other substance (and believe me, 'cause I've driven on all of them), and leads to a lot of crazy, violent, self-destructive shit by nature.
I would expect alcohol to be high on the list - it is dangerous - but not that high. Your second sentence is what I meant when I said "prevalent and legal". I almost said something like "I'd like to see how this chart would look after a hundred years of everything being legal" but wasn't sure how to do it right. This would look different if cocaine, crack and meth were legal, accepted and common... though with some of that would also come some of the positive structures (regulations and purity, community involvement and better/non-stigmatized information and assistance).

The chart isn't about the potential dangers of these drugs but rather about how (some experts think) things actually are right now with usage and laws at current levels. That seemed weird to me but the more I think about it what they have isn't as worthless as I thought.

I do not claim to be an expert or even particularly well informed. It surprises me that these experts didn't think LSD caused more long-term issues. When I think of LSD I think of burnouts and acid-flashbacks and mental instability... but maybe a lot of that is propagandist bullshit.

Though, to (what was) my point above, the chart shouldn't really be read as saying more people should take LSD because it doesn't address that.

If there is a more worthless holiday than Columbus Day, I can't think of it.

Why is this still a thing? Does the Italian-American community really have that much sway any more? Do they even give a shit?

I think it's pretty significant from a government/policy standpoint, when considering how to do the greatest good for the greatest number of people.

I have no idea what that means. But I do find even the notion of trying to put my mba friends and his burner friends in the same room together to be highly comical.

    Sufjan corrects Miley's grammar.

Dear Miley. I can’t stop listening to #GetItRight (great song, great message, great body), but maybe you need a quick grammar lesson. One particular line causes concern: “I been laying in this bed all night long.” Miley, technically speaking, you’ve been LYING, not LAYING, an irregular verb form that should only be used when there’s an object, i.e. “I been laying my tired booty on this bed all night long.” Whatever. I’m not the best lyricist, but you know what I mean. #Get It Right The Next Time. But don’t worry, even Faulkner messed it up. We all make mistakes, and surely this isn’t your worst misdemeanor. But also, Miley, did you know the tense here is also totally wrong. Surely you’ve heard of Present Perfect Continuous Tense (I HAVE BEEN LYING in this bed all night long [hopefully getting some beauty sleep?]). It’s a weird, equivocal, almost purgatorial tense, not quite present, not quite past, not quite here, not quite there. Somewhere in between. I feel that way all the time. It kind of sucks. But I have a feeling your “present perfect continuous” involves a lot more excitement than mine. Anyway, doesn’t that also sum up your career right now? Present. Perfect. Continuous. And Tense. Intense? Girl, you work it like Mike Tyson. Miley, I love you because you’re the Queen, grammatically and anatomically speaking. And you’re the hottest cake in the pan. Don’t ever grow old. Live brightly before your fire fades into total darkness. XXOO Sufjan

This past summer, Sufjan critiqued SAVAGES font selection. It says here that Sufjan is a big typography nerd.

"The very cool SAVAGES has allowed a very uncool typographical blunder on its LP cover: Helvetica Narrow (weight loss is the worst thing that can happen to an iconic font, aka iOS 6). Also can we talk about the weird italics (unnecessary affectation, and very un-British), cramped leading (totally unforgivable) and unnecessary line break? Who the Fraggle designed this?"

First a disclaimer: I had friends die in various wars so I get it k.

I think it's interesting that Fox news major coverage, story after story about the big issue of the gov't shutdown is 26 (28?) dead people. I'm not sure what that means. cr****

Ron. no one gives a shit about fox news. and ESPECIALLY they don't give a shit about what you think of fox news. so shut up about fox news already. not just now. forever.

perhaps instead you could tell us again how great the hippies were, how they did nothing but spread peace and love and harmony to the world, how there wasn't an ounce of narcissism or exploitation or hypocrisy in them at all.

FOX News Channel (FNC) continued to dominate in 2012 as the most-watched cable news channel among both total viewers and Adults 24-54 for the 11th consecutive year, according to Nielsen Media Research. FNC will complete the year with the top 11 programs in total viewership, marking FNC’s second highest-rated delivery ever in total viewers for both Prime Time and Total Day.

It's like Howard Stern. People watch to hear what they say next. To hear how ridiculous a human can be. It's a great comedy.
