Well, this was very anti-climatic.
Well, this was very anti-climatic.
Insulting somebody on a message board is exactly akin to torturing animals, yes.
Also, something involving Hitler.
K, my MB nemesis-for-a-day apparently has a good heart when it comes to animals. I retract the comment about him torturing small animals.
I'm a 1st responder for HSUS, love rescuing animals and hate people who abuse them.
I have witnessed captncrzy take numerous swipes at a bee.
Here's a private message I just received.

His private Message:How much time a day do you spend watching television?

It looks like you're about to compare TV usage with Coachella message board usage... answering my question with your own question, and possibly trying to justify obsessive Coachella board usage with the average american's mindless TV usage... right?
I thought about it for about 2 seconds and here you go:
I watch way more TV than 5 minutes a day. But comparing TV usage to Coachella board usage is fundamentally flawed. First, TV has literally thousands of channels and programs... diversity... much like the internet has websites you can visit. I will also be the first to admit I spend WAY more time on the internet for work and pleasure than 5 minutes a day.
Coachella is but a single website...2 dimensional, limited, redundant. Now, if you asked me how much time I spent watching Rush Limbaugh (just one channel) each day, then we'd have a valid comparison... mindless babble versus mindless babble on a single, limited, website. Of if you asked me how much time I spent on some OTHER single website, then we could compare.
Comparing overall TV usage to single website Coachella usage is fundamentally flawed... I hope that wasn't your argument... haha.
Just saying...

tl;drSubject: inspiration
Hey BlackSwan -
My inspiration was to poke a little fun at the likely demographic that will make up the private acoustic Duran Duran gig (and probably the Fillmore show too)... which will be 35-45 year old women. Maybe I'm wrong, and I didn't mean to offend you or your wife. I thought you could take it as a generalization about who might be attending and laugh at it regardless of who may be on the hunt.
What is not inspiring is the way some of the group on this board goes out of their way to attack people with name calling and other pointless bullshit, like Guedita picking apart a post of mine, completely twisting it around and starting some worthless argument (and then for you to creep in and back her on it). I'm not part of the 10K+ post club, nor do I aspire to be there. I am part of the concert/festival going community here in SF and try to contribute in a mostly positive manner to these boards. Yeah, sometimes there is grumpiness, but its not like you are some saint. Shit, you can come across so sharp-tongued and like a know-it-all at times that a single post of yours can exude more douchiness than all mine combined.
This message board warfare is unnecessary. Especially considering that while we may not know it, chances are we've stood within 10-20 feet of each other enjoying numerous shows. Heck, we probably even stood near each other at Coachella. Now unless you were the guy talking loudly with bros paying no attention to the show, pissing in a bottle in plain view of everyone or taking flash pictures with your flip phone, I probably took no offense to you being there and you took no offense to me. So why start meaningless arguments on a message board? I really think any and all of the hostility could be squashed by just shaking hands at a show, having a beer and enjoying the MUSIC.
I'll be at Phantogram tonight with my wife, and likely seeing Wire at Slim's on Sunday. If I can't make the Wire show, would you be interested in going? I would pass along the ticket to you as easily at it came to me.
Have fun at Duran Duran.

BlackSwan, remember that time you spit on my face at LCD Soundsystem because we disagreed about something and had had words on the board a few weeks earlier?
