really dude? Yeah, because there is such an utter and total LACK of marijuana at Coachella. I mean I WASN'T bathed in reefer smoke ALL WEEKEND. Man, I really wish there had been MORE MARIJUANA SMOKE......EVERYWHERE.

This pretty much describes exactly how I've felt after this year's fest. I haven't even posted about the shows we saw or people we got to meet, and coming back from the weekend to a message board full of negativity sure didn't help, I'll say that much. While we still enjoyed ourselves and had a good time, there definitely was something different. Maybe it was the amount of new changes and the fact that some of them failed? Not sure...
Its like the Infinite Monkey Theorem, if you put X amount of monkeys in a room with a typewriter and ask them to give you Shakespeare 99% of them will fling their shit at you while the other 1% will masturbate in the corner.

Yeah, I had to take a long break from this site. Musically, by far, this was my favorite year, but the over-crowding and traffic issues definitely tarnished the experience. I commend GV for continuing to put on a world-class lineup.

We've gone every year since 2004, so we hope that GV reacts to the feedback and takes positive steps to improve the experience. However, I'm not naive... it sold out, so I am hoping for expanded festival grounds, since less ticket sales would be unrealistic.

Instead of fog machines, marijuana smoke from said machines. Hopefully you'll still get the same lighting effect during the later sets, but perhaps that won't even matter-- for obvious reasons...

The nice thing about having druggies and people who party too hard is that they sleep in most of the next day. This gave me an excellent experience Sunday and I'm grateful for it!

That bottom one looks more like an office building. Either would be fantastic, however.

    My list:

way less people, Radiohead, less middle school/high school etards in the sahara, Soulwax, more sleep when camping (I barely had any sleep the entire weekend), A Tribe Called Quest, more fucking showers, Royksopp, be able to walk around the grounds without having to avoid people constantly, Daft Punk, more hot ladies barely wearing anything, Flying Lotus, a better hip hop lineup than what we got in 2010 (Wale, P.O.S., and B.O.B. were all terrible), Wu Tang Clan, 10x30 sized car camping spots (not 7x15), Bonobo, security guards that are legitimate and do their fucking jobs, Portishead, less traffic and better parking situation, Beastie Boys

    my list: less people

it was either friday or saturday night i remember trying to walk from the sahara to the main stage and it was seriously packed behind the mojave as if i were in the tent. it wasnt people watching either, it was people walking. it took a good 5 mins to get through what would normally take about 30 seconds.

the way i see it GV got to see how far they could push capacity this year. if this becomes the new normal than coachella is REALLY going to suffer. maybe not financially but definitely in spirit. its been two weeks later and i have to keep reminding myself that this years show has already passed. thats NEVER happened to me before. just didnt feel the same

P.O.S. did not suck. But then again it seems like every act that plays every Coachella, there's as many that will rip a given artist that will also rave about the same one.

My big request for next year would be a tent-only camping option with a separate parking lot exclusively for tent-only campers... where they could come/go anytime of the day like in previous years... even if it means the camping spots are smaller. I just wanna be able to drive in/out as I please... especially on Thursday nights and in the morning.
