There hasn't been a peep on that show for months and months. In the mean time Morello has announced Springsteen commitments and a solo project. He hasn't mentioned the festival when interviewed a couple times in the US last month including Rolling Stone magazine.

Sun 03/09/14 Reno, NV Reno Events Center
Tue 03/11/14 San Francisco, CA Bill Graham Civic Auditorium
Wed 03/12/14 San Francisco, CA Bill Graham Civic Auditorium
Fri 03/14/14 Fresno, CA Selland Arena
Sat 03/15/14 Las Vegas, NV Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino
Sun 03/16/14 San Diego, CA Valley View Casino Center
Thu 03/27/14 Phoenix, AZ US Airways Center

It's going to be tough for TOOL to help fill a stadium with these surrounding dates and the MJK birthday shows.

Bumblebee, wtf are you saying. Less than a month ago they posted "Your patience is a gift." on the LA Rising FB page.
Yes, that counts as a peep, since you seem to be implying there's been no mention of it by any involved parties.

I wasn't aware of that Facebook posting. Wish for something more concrete on LAR or RATM, especially with Morello currently on tour in Australia and having done interviews after that update.

Morello said he wants to do as many Springsteen dates as he can and there's currently tour rumours for July.

TOOL could play LAR but thet won't get more than a MUSE level billing.

Muse still played a full set at LAR so I don't see the problem with Tool being billed right under RATM.

I'm sure it's fine now, but just a heads up, when I saw them there last, TM sold tickets like there were seats on the floor (I got a good seat in the stands just off to the side). When I got inside, there really weren't any seats on the floor and it was, for all intensive porpoises, a GA show down there. There were a lot of pissed off folks from what I could see/hear.

With 90 minutes, that means they would cut out one of their interludes, though.

Can RATM and TOOL, playing zero new material, actually do the same kind of business LAR did in 2011?

Maybe, maybe not. I tend to think yes. Regardless i'll be there if it's RATM and Tool.

It's just fun watching hardcore fans contort themselves into thinking that 2 acts that have gone a combined 22 years since their last album are somehow relevant and will automatically draw a crowd half the size of Coachella in a stadium with crap sightlines.

If there was new material, I'd be there is a hearthbeat.

Considering that Morello is too busy being the 4th or 5th guitarist on E-Street, I think it's fair to count RATM out on the album front.

I haven't dissected his One Day as Lion lyrics, but in fairness, the Rage lyrics are arguably as relevant as any other "current" band.

Anything new that RATM released would probably fall flat with their fans anyways. Their current method of a couple shows every few years seems to be working for them and it's pretty remarkable that they can still draw the way they do despite not having any new material in almost 15 years.

Yea, I said to hell with regular sale for SD. Especially after I saw it was going to be done on AXS. That's just a disaster waiting to happen.

Got a pair for Phoenix as well. Almost panicked because I had to use the ticketmaster app and it was going so slow. First time it even said no matches available right at 10:00 before it pulled a pair of lowers a couple of minutes later.

Yeah, I was having a hard time because I forgot my password and had to reset my account. Luckily I type fast, but the bright red ticking clock was quite intimidating.
