Seriously thought this was last years thread....was about to not even click on it.

I enjoyed their sets last tour, despite being painfully short and void of the rare gems. But I definitely would have only saw them once (instead of twice), if I'd had known what the set lists consisted of.

    new material....
    D/R/T
    jimmy
    H.
    Pushit
    Right In Two
    Parabol/a

a few of these things are key for me to care I think...

So is the bowl all booked up or could these guys play there late summer/early fall?

Probably the only venue I'd travel out to see them at. Unless of course they get crazy and start switching up setlists non stop.

Booked all the way through end of Sept with leased events. There are some open dates in there so ya never know. I'd say it's more likely we get them at either Staples or Nokia again. Just please, no festivals.

i doubt it those because i heard Maynard and T-Rez ego's are too big .I heard that perfect circle would go over the there set time and T-rez would get pissed off and just start doing their sound check while Perfect Circle would be still playing.

That is a terrible band name.

Also, didn't Trent say he is done with touring?

No, he's not done with NIN. He's done touring. This will have to be clarified until the end of time. In fact I bet you hear some more NIN by the end of the year.

As much as I despise the douchebag tool fanbase, I do think it'd be fun to heckle maynard if they played the same setlist again.

the last two times i saw tool, it was the same setlist except for one song. it's cool, because i went:

    1. my husband's birthday in vegas 12/14/07.
    2. the groom for whom i was a best man for, i took him for his birthday 8/22/09 (epicenter)

but before that, they were such varied setlists - i miss that. from the time our math teacher took us to see them @ hollywood palladium in march 1998, to the santa barbara show 8/29/1998.

oh well. if it's the same setlist, then let the tool virgins get their cherry popped, otherwise, i'm there.

    jimmy

Also, you're a gay man? Congrats.

I was at Long Beach Arena in 2002 - it was their last gig in support of Lateralus!! I ran into Dino Cazares (Fear Factory/Brujeria/Asesino) with two females hanging on him. Meshuggah was the most pummeling opener I'd ever seen and Justin Chancellor pointed at me from afar(twice, the second time being the acknowledging gesture that it was me he was pointing at initially, after I pointed back at him- it was insane) at the end of the set when the house lights came on.

One of my most memorable concerts ever.

Why did he point at you? Were you undressing him with your eyes while he was dry-humping his bass throughout the set?

Justin pointed at me once during an opening act. I told him "Beatch, unless you want to lose that finger, you'd best retract! Recognize!".

srsly, just said "hi" to him before Kings of Leon's set. Err, and no pointing involved

    Hahaha, dick.

Towards the end of the set I went to get a bird's-eye view and escape the mustiness that was throughout the GA area, so I went up and sat in the nosebleed seats directly to the side (which happened to be Chancellor's side) at the very top row - I could actually see everything Danny was doing as well as practically everything going on backstage. So when the set was over, they turned the house lights on, the band took a bow and at first Justin stood there examining the crowd taking in the reception. Then all of a sudden he steps out past the stage monitors and put his hand over his brow, peering toward the general area where I was at, at that time. He initially pointed to what appeared at first, to me, to be the top row - where I was at. So I yell, like everyone else in front of me, and then point back at him enthusiastically. Well at that point, almost immediately, he point right back at me but twice (as to say: "yeah you!") in acknowledgment. The closest person next to me then turned and said, "Did you see that? He pointed at you!" I laughed in disbelief while being totally elated at the same time.

It really was a trip, man.

    So anyways...cool story, bro.
