the clash - london calling
I voted for London Calling, but I think The Wall and Three Imaginary Boys by The Cure deserve to be up there as well.
The Black Angels - Explosions in the Sky - Amon Tobin - Madness - Yuck - GIRLS - WU LYF - M. Ward - Refused - Pulp
Radiohead - Bon Iver - Jeff Mangum - Godspeed You! Black Emperor - fIREHOSE - Flying Lotus - Buzzcocks
Company Flow - At the Drive-In - Beirut - Real Estate - DJ Shadow - Seun Kuti - Beats Antique - Thundercat
I always considered London Calling a 1980 album, since that is when it came out here.So I'd have to say Fear Of Music.
I see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves me and causes me to tremble for the safety of my country. . . . corporations have been enthroned and an era of corruption in high places will follow, and the money power of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working upon the prejudices of the people until all wealth is aggregated in a few hands and the Republic is destroyed.
clash would be mine, then gang of four, and neil young's rust never sleeps
Gary Numan - The Pleasure Principle
The Clash - London Calling | no doubt. But I think the Wall would have been my runner up
Saturday Night Fever
Whiskey Sour
2 oz blended whiskey
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1/2 tsp powdered sugar
1 cherry
1/2 slice lemon
Shake blended whiskey, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a whiskey sour glass. Decorate with the half-slice of lemon, top with the cherry, and serve.
polls for various years would be interesting. For example, 1991 would be good. My bloody valentine, primal scream, teenage fanclub. Although, I imagine nevermind would get a fair amount of the votes.
I think my picture of Squeezing Out Sparks by Graham Parker disappeared, and i think that's my favorite.

Pink Floyd - The Wall...
I can't believe that wasn't on the list
This wasn't the stuff I was listening to in 1979. Where did you get this list?
I was listening to:
Pink Floyd
David Bowie
Michael Jackson
AC/DC
Fleetwood Mac
The Police
Cheap Trick
ELO
The Cars
Dire Straits
Prince
ABBA
George Harrison
the clash is fucking over rated.
That's definitely a music geek's '79 list. The general public was listening to little to none of those albums in 1979.
5/23 - Boris - Echoplex
5/24 - Boris - Echoplex
5/30 - John Talabot - Echoplex (?)
6/02 - Bjork - Palladium
6/08 - The Field - El Rey (?)
