should all the stages be closed for him? Considering he is the NO.1 most wanted act to play the festival? Or does the Gorillaz debacle prove we should never do that?
Bowie, as I stated a million times. Is only good if he wants it to be good. That being said, if he finally says yes to Coachella then that is because he wants to be there and thus higher chance of it being good.
funny enough. I do see them closing down at least the outdoor and the gobi for Radiohead. They have played unopposed @ OSL, Lolla and APW on their last run and I could easily see them working out a deal to make sure they got it @ Coachella. Just look @ the quiet time Thom got?
I feel like the idea that Bowie would be so incredible at Coachella has been over-hyped by the fact that he's apparently turned Coachella down a bunch of times. In reality, he'd probably be, like, the third or fourth biggest Coachella headliner (I'm thinking he'd be behind McCartney and Radiohead, and maybe Waters, too).
I would have no interest in seeing Bowie, so i would hope that they would have other performers playing during his set.....such as Sly Stone....
we need enter shikari to conflict with Bowie
oh and congratulations on yet ANOTHER fucking poll, TCHY....

And thanks to my co-workers playing a Bowie marathon of music when I got back to the office. They officially named the day after Coachella, "Songs by that guy that will never play Coachella". Thanks co-workers.

Looking for Water
Cactus (Pixies cover)
Reality

China Girl Play Video
A New Career in a New Town
The Motel
The Loneliest Guy
Panic in Detroit
Let's Dance
The Man Who Sold The World
The Supermen
Sunday
Heathen (The Rays)
Under Pressure
Days
Always Crashing in the Same Car

Encore:
Bring Me The Disco King
Five Years
Suffragette City
Ziggy Stardust
I would want Underworld in the Sahara, and Thom Yorke at the Outdoor Theatre, conflicting entirely with Bowie. Not because I don't like them, because I do, but because it would draw a lot of people away from the Main Stage and I can get a better spot.
Upcoming: 05/25/13 - Fleetwood Mac - Hollywood Bowl (Hollywood, CA); 05/29/13 - Arctic Monkeys - Sunshine Theater (Albuquerque, NM); 05/30/13 - The Postal Service - Red Rocks (Morrison, CO); Bjork performing Biophilia - 06/02/13 - Hollywood Palladium (Hollywood, CA); Bjork - 06/11/13 - Hollywood Bowl (Hollywood, CA);
No Space Oddity?
I voted for all the stages to be closed because it's BOWIE. Why would anyone in their right mind even choose another act? Would another act even agree to play against him?
Actually, nevermind. Can we get someone like MGMT or Hot Chip or Guetta to play at the same time to draw away some of the tens of thousands of teeny boppers that now overrun the festival?

I love Bowie and although he is worthy of having all the other stages shut down, I don't think it should occur. It's a music festival and I think people paying their hard earned money to attend should have the choice of what they want to watch. Of course, those not wanting to watch Bowie are simply crazy, but that's another issue.
'99-'11...
I wouldn't want 10,000 aggro-fuckfaces in deadmau5 heads pissing me off on the main during Bowie's set. Stick them in the Sahara and hope that the tent collapses on itself.
There's too many people to close down all the stage for bowie. On a side note am I the only one that now will get annoyed when he hears that bowie is playing coachella? Although it will never happen, it would be great.
I selfishly would want all of them to be closed just to make the experience more dramatic for myself. Bowie is and will always be my favorite musician of all time, and I will miss show after show to get the rail for this if it was to ever happened.
I'll just keep dreaming.
