as predicted by nostradamus
I regret missing his set, as I was in the front row at the main stage and did not want to miss his spot. I know the Strokes are at Lollapalooza and will likely tour the USA in the fall.
I cannot believe i missed Hard to Explain...I'd say it's in my top 3 songs. I missed the first 20 minutes of his set...Biggest fucking regret of the weekend.
I caught the first half of his set and his voice sounded really good!
i'll post some videos soon. got some good ones
He def did a lot better than I was expecting. And I'm pretty sure he was drunk on stage. Red Solo's ftw!
I wasn't at Coachella but I saw Julian on his own and the setlist consisted of all 8 tracks of his album+2 Strokes songs+2 cover songs
I GOT THE SETLIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mick Jagger
I was pretty lucky I walked by right when Hard To Explain was playing
Wow, I didn't know he did Strokes songs. I guess I still don't care, though. I mean, I've seen him do Strokes songs with the Strokes, and even that didn't wow me.
He played 11th Dimension and Out of the Blue near the beginning of his set, which was great because it allowed me to catch the rest of Jonsi (also incredible). Pretty much Julian Casablancas -> Jonsi -> Phoenix -> Thom Yorke made Sunday my favorite day of Coachella this year.
I went to one of his LA dates last November at the Palace in Downtown and thought it was just alright but when i passed by his tent at Coachella he sounded really good. We stopped for a moment and listened to Hard to Explain. I was much more impressed with what I saw in the brief time I stopped vs. his performance at the Palace.
He opened with River of Breaklights, followed by hard to explain. Also played the christmas song and the you only live once demo/cover. I think the only songs from the album he didn't play were Ludlow Street and Tourist.
aaaaaahhhgagagagagagagagoooooooo
God, I love that man. His voice is so damn good.
Can't believe I didn't see his set. I'm a huge Strokes fan as well.
they sounded great...and the girl in the back on percussion had me completely hypnotized....as if i were as coked up as julian and gang.
