I heard the original drummer will playing with Pavement at their Stockton show. I cant believe Pavement has never before played in Stockton, even though that is where the band is from, although I picture Malkmus kicking it in Studio City with the wife and kids.

A drunken performance on Malkmus' birthday was indeed a sight to see.

"... fucked that part up!" <-- loud and proud into the mic.

I'm trying to remember what song that happened on... perhaps mid-way through the set? I know it was not during the first few songs or the last few (it was a long set - 20 or so songs - considering that they were not headlining).

If I do find out (since I am curious as well!) I'll post back on here.
I KNOW there was a video I saw that reminded me that that happened.

The set was great as it was; the strong gusts of wind on the audience was like a roaming nostalgia taking physical form to visit its own roots: a show by Pavement. It made it absolutely magical. But was anyone else hoping to hear at least one song from Terror Twilight? Or would that just remind us too much of how they once broke up. Really had my fingers crossed for Major Leagues. And maybe they could golf as an encore.

As someone who is about to turn 41, I always hate hearing these stories. Trompe Le Monde turned 20 last year. Next year I think Afghan Whigs Gentlemen (possibly the best album of the 90s, up there with Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain and Definitely Maybe), turns 20.
