No threads about it yet but Jonsi was just great!!! His voice was sooo spot on and the band he's with was amazing!!! Too bad he didn't get a better slot with his production![]()
I agree, he sounded great and seemed really into it, but I can't believe his only LA-area date didn't get the production.
I honestly think this was my favorite set of the weekend. Just absolutely brilliant
That song he ended on was absolutely killer. He did a great job yesterday. A definite highlight.
For your health
Completely blew me away! Probably my favorite set of the weekend.
Where's Underworld and Mew? Make it happen GV.
Everyone get chills during the last song? I know I did.
Loved every single second of it.
ahhhh! I loved his set and the sunset was incredible![]()
12.01 Dan Deacon @ The Echoplex
12.03 Benoit & Sergio @ TBA
12.09 Avery Tare @ The Center for the Arts Eagle Rock
12.17 Baths/DNTEL @ The El Rey
04.13-15 COACHELLA @ The Polo Fields
Seriously!
Everything bad about anything just slowly floated away and I was left with just a smile on my face, and closed eyes.
It made me wish I was also watching Sigur Rós though, because it reminded me of their ( ) album.
<3
My most anticipated performance of the weekend and it was great haha
There's Definitely definitely definitely no logic to human behavior.
Jonsi should've had Phoenix' spot, Phoenix should have had Pavement's spot, and Pavement should have been working in a fucking shoe store selling fat ladies flats.
I can't believe GV wasted 1:10 on that dreadful bunch of middle-aged boredom while tens of thousands were grooving to Phoenix and we missed Jonsi's light show.
Especially when Faith No More, the other middle-aged reunion, had a measly :50 with a much deeper and more interesting setlist. GV should be ashamed.
Glad other people appreciated the last song of Jonsi's set. BEYOND AMAZING!
That feather headdress was fucking magical.
Excellent set. The suitcase kick-drum was a personal favorite for me.
Jonsi was my favorite set. Damn
did anyone feel when the wind picked up it made it extra magical?
His set was awseome !! The last song was mindblowing'ly good.
I agree Obzen, the drummer ripped it! His set was def a highlight, and very overlooked. Came from watching Club 75 and the monotone crashing house to the beautiful sounds of Jonsi. Great move!
Definitely one of the best sets I saw all weekend, and I hadn't even listened to his album beforehand. Completely agree about the sentiments on the last song, it was fantastic
Jonsi was perfect. Ending with Grow Till Tall made me want to cry. Definitely one of the best sets of the day and of the weekend
i have a good Jonsi moment before the show: i was using the backstage area to get to the Outdoor on time for the show cause walking through the field was not an option with the clusterfuckery. As i was turning into the back of the Outdoor, Jonsi and the band were coming out of their trailer and did their group prayer. After they finished and walked by, Jonsi was warming up his voice. One of my highlights. i haven't uploaded the pictures yet, but will put here when i do.
My shots of Jonsi can be found here
Where's Underworld and Mew? Make it happen GV.
Nice, but you are going to make wide lens arrangements next time (even if it's a point and shoot). Great seeing you multiple times over the weekend. Crazy photo pits.
Grow Till Tall was the best closing number I've ever witnessed at Coachella. My entire posse was getting misty.
