I thought Prince would have been higher and closer to Slash.

Glad to see that Peter Buck made this list. And agreed, the placement of Bellamy is ridiculous and completely stupid.

Thumbs down Re: John Frusciante voted best guitarist in last 3 decades

Just about the most uninformed list I have ever seen. People and especially publications that don't understand music have no business telling others what is good.
Failure to mention thereby proving their ignorance list:
    Kurt Cobain
    Jerry Cantrell
    Stone Gossard
    Billy Corgan
    Billy Duffy
    Oliver Ackermann
    Thurston Moore
........ This list could go on.

Frusciante is overrated. His solos are simplified live, and not that hard on recording.

Give me Dave Navarro, Thurston Moore and Jack White.

These lists are always stupid because "best" is too vague.
There is many different ways to excel as a musician and aesthetics are subjective to tastes.
So are we acting like playing guitar is a sport where best technique wins?
How about originality? versatility ? Does speed matter? Are we only talking solos?
    How do you measure art?

Robert Smith. Kevin Shields. The Edge, despite having completely retarded name for a grown-ass man.

Also, Nels Cline wipes his ass with Matt Bellamy solos.

Avant garde and Wilco being incorrectly categorized as a jam band probably have something to do with Nels absence. He'll continue to be severely under rated. My favorites are the Wilco fans who think Nels doesn't even fit into Wilco.

This is one of the worst lists I have ever seen. I cannot imagine what it must be like to live in a world where Vernon Reid and Alex Lifeson are two of your most admired musicians.

O.k. Alex is a bit questionable but Vernon is undeniably one of the best alive.
