Meeting ppl at Coachella on Thursday

This is my first time at Coachella so I don't know much about the atmosphere there. But I'm suppose to meet up with ppl near the line-up to the camping area around 2ish on Thursday, what are the chances we'll have trouble? Is there a recommended spot that would be best? Again I haven't been there so sorry if this sounds stupid to anyone who has. I don't want to depend on calling the person when I get there b/c I know the reception maybe iffy and it's crazy long distance for me (I'm from Canada). Anyway I appreciate any advice to tips ppl may give.

the set up for camping this year is different than ever before. meet somewhere offsite if you want to roll in together. or just meet at the general store onsite wherever it may be.

Are helium balloons allowed in the venue, or just camping?

I was thinking of making a sign, but again don't know it's I'll be having to stand there for 2 hours looking for each b/c there's 10,000 ppl there. Just wondering if there was an open area that we could meet that's easy to access and not too far of the way. We're traveling separately but camping together.

balloon idea sounded like great advice... i do rides to & from coachella each year on thursdays and mondays and i've never had trouble reaching people via cellphone on those days... DURING the festival -shrugs-

Thanks, ppl talked about there being problems and I know I had problems at Lollapalooza but that was during the festival.

Plan to meet at the General Store, Roller Derby Rink or Pinball Machines at a specific time after you check in? Phones will work though, what provider are you using in Canada? Most carriers work.

I'm with Telus, which doesn't have an American counterpart (IE: Rogers w/ AT&T) but says they have service in most areas of the US. I'm hoping most means Coachella.

Zuma, I was going to mention in my other post that Telus does work. I've had to make calls to that network at coachella but it didn't work to well anywhere outside of Palm Springs, just a personal experience.

It's really hard to say - varies from year to year.
