I'm Going To Coachella This Year, But....

I'm going to Coachella this year, as I have since its inception, but....
When I saw that Grace Jones was going to be there, my pecker stood at full attention, then she got cancelled.........When I saw that Sly & the Family Stone were going to be there, I got the hugest boner, then it got changed to just Sly Stone (and I'll be he does not show, as that's his M.O.).....and then I see Jay-Z as a headliner...the wife beater, the womanizer...scumbag...about like Jack Johnson being the headliner last year, and I'm supposed to be excited? Not. Muse a headliner? Don't think so. Nice that they're there, but a headliner? Don't think so. Cocteau Twins? Yes. Paul McCartney? Yes. Muse? Sorry, no. And The Gorillaz for Sunday. Nice "interesting" add, but headliner material? No. And who-the-hell ARE The Gorrillaz, anyway? Will the guys from Talking Heads be there? Doubt it. etc. etc. etc. All-in-all, I love Coachella, and I have faithfully attended every year. Faithfully. I've had a lot of great past experiences: meeting George Harrison's son, meeting Jeff Lynne and Olivia Harrison, getting turned-on to Superchunk, Wolfmother, Fucked Up, Rory Erickson, and the like.......but this year's Coachella is a real let-down. But I'll still be there, hoping 2011 is much better. Maybe the economy in 2011 will be much better.

i will never understand people who log on to a message board to complain abou the lineup. the answer is simple: DON'T GO. there will be more room on the polo field for those of us who who appreciate good music, are excited to discover new incredible acts, and are grateful for the experience of being there.

Cocteau Twins if they ever play will never be a headliner.
Its like all the people that said Pavement will be/should be the
headliner. In their prime they played small venues in LA. In
fact, Pavements show at the Fox Theater hasn't sold out and that place holds what 1500 to 2000 people. Muse is more popular than most on the lineup and are absolutely headliner material. I think anyone that plays basketball arenas is qualified as a headliner. And on this years lineup I'd say 3 acts could/do play basketball arenas and they are all headlining.

Coachella this year will absolutely rule...my fifth trip from San Jose, Ca and I've never looked forward to it as much...my only regret, we'll be in Hermosa Beach on Friday, and so miss LCD Sounsystem & Specials, but the Sat/Sun line-ups alone are epic...

Have you ever heard of HAARP before? Muse can sell out the second biggest soccer stadium in Europe (Wembley Stadium) whenever they want. Muse is still growing popularity in the states, but as someone who has seen them on their new album tour- their stage set-up is mind blowing, they are incredible live and they are becoming a pretty huge band globally.

"Who the hell are the Gorrillaz," well if you have to ask yourself that, especially as a member of the forum, you know you are going to get flamed. Learn to spell: IT'S ON THE POSTER. The Gorillaz are a huge draw, especially due to the rarity in which they perform live sets.

If this line-up doesn't satisfy you, no one is begging you to come. The last thing anyone wants around them next weekend is people bitching about the line-up.
