so the flatiron is stub with the rounded corner towards the right.
we started about 9:30 in the morning.
early on the way up is this little area. i had no concept of how much further we had to go. i could not conceive the path to the top.
the slick rock area was killer. there was a waterfall to the left, but no water. going down this made me with for a snowboard and some snow. there was some sliding lol.
i thought going up that would be like almost there. again, no concept of how far. if it weren't my friend constantly lying and telling me we were close, i'd probably never have made it. this is nowhere near close in effort.
but then it got crazy rocky. this was when i seriously said i would quit, but they all convinced me to take a break. so i ate a granola bar. about when we started walking, it rained for a minute, then stopped.
and after countless rocks. after countless motivational speeches from my friend, mark and i made it!
but then, we had to get down.
climbing down those rocks was not easy. when i get momentum like that, i just keep going. we all got separated.
we all met up at this spot. i tried to look for mark. thanks for wearing yellow
the struggle down was long, but we all eventually made it to the parking lot. i can't believe it. every time i looked back up, i was awestruck. still cannot believe we did that.
