I can also point out about another 20 bands I never heard of.

Don't get me wrong there about about a dozen bands i'm lookign forward too and then another handful that I will wander over too and get into to some new music but there are 10 crap bands. Who are your 10 crap bands?

I agree with shotglass 75. For me Kings of Leon are the band that I am most excited about seeing on Saturday. Even if they conflict with Arcade Fire, I will go see Kings of Leon instead. I listen to KOL's 2nd album constantly, and love the rockin' energy of that album. Can't wait to finally see them live!
Instead of doing a 'NO LIST', I would rather contribute something positive to the board and do a 'YES LIST'. Here goes:
    YES LIST:
    Rage Against the Machine
    Kings of Leon
    Sonic Youth
    Air
    Silversun Pickups
    Peeping Tom
    Willie Nelson
    Red Hot Chili Peppers
    Arcade Fire
    Bjork
    Black Keys
    Peaches

    MAYBE:
    Stephen Marley
    Interpol
the Good, the Bad, the Queen
    the Roots
    the Lemonheads
    Gillian Welch
    Crowded House
an electronica act or two (not really my thing, but I'm curious)

If I get to see the majority of the bands on my 'Yes' list, then my own personal Coachella experience will be worth it; so there is no need for me to complain about the other bands present that I don't want to see. If other people are having a good time watching other bands that I don't listen to/ don't like, then so be it. That will just more room for me to get up front to see Sonic Youth, Kings of Leon, or Willie.
(Now the real conflict for me is not going to be at this year's Coachella, but at Bonnaroo....the Roo has more of my favorite rock bands playing then Coachella does, and hopefully they won't conflict with one another's set times. But that's a whole other thread.)

I felt like I'd just watched something culturally significant. Actually, Nirvana came to mind. I hope this is Arcade Fire's coming out party.

Grizzly Bear put on an awesome live show and are really inventive. The Rapture are another great live band. And, Konono #1? What the hell man? What the hell?

O I know you think that 1000 posts in 2 months is a trophy wife. You would never give that up.

Why don't you get a life? Or a hobby? Whichever is easier for you.

Faxman from what ive seen of your posts you really have nothing better to do than complain. Im going to enjoy myself thankyouverymuch. The bands i dont like, I'll go see something else, i really dont see a need to complain about them.

Hey they might be great live but from their studio work i'm not to impressed. It's music, it's subjective, we shall see. What is your list? I would add the Chili Peppers but they at least put on a show and used to be good. I dont' care to see them but whatever.

So is this thread based on studio work or live performance? Because I think all of us have different views of bands when it come to studio vs live. Daft Punk's studio stuff is nothing to shoot a load over but seeing them live is a 90 minute orgasm.

I can''t make a list because I 1) haven't heard of all of the bands playing and 2) haven't seen all of the bands playing to make a list of who is crap or not.

it's pointless to compare Daft Punk's studio stuff with their live shows. their studio stuff are simply a starting point. it is like their alphabet. only during their live shows can we truly see the beauty and awesomeness of what they have created.

I really wasn't trying to compare the two rather I was trying to make a point about studio productions vs live productions in general using the first comparison that came to my mind.

Also, does anyone actually see more than 8-12 bands a day anyways?

I think you have Nickel Creek mixed up with Nickelback. Everyone has their own taste though and trust me when those bands play the stages will be packed, don't bitch because you are old and jaded and havent heard of 20 of the other bands, think of Coachella as a learning experience. You think I have heard of all the bands that play at SxSw? Hell no thats why I go, to check them out and judge them first hand. If you can't be open minded you shouldn't be going to Coachella. And as far as Konono no 1 are you fucking nuts dude, be grateful they are playing Coachella I'm not too into world music but these guys are great for what they do.

I think this needs to be stressed. Nickel Creek are awesome, Nickel Back are, in fact, crap.

about the 20 bands you have never heard of faxman, does that make them bad because YOU have never heard of them? do you think anyone on here really cares which acts you think are bad?

How could I think they are bad if I never head of them? That's retarded logic. I posted the bands that I think suck. It's a fucking message board and everyone posts their opinion, if you don't like opinions you should stay off the web. I clearly stated there will be acts I never heard of that I will be wandering to see. I think you need reading comprehension.
