They had a very poor showing at Sasquatch too. Didn't Pavement more or less play EVERYWHERE in 2010 though? I think their crowd would have been a lot bigger if Coachella had been their reunion show.

Pomona the night before I believe?
Correct. The Pavement reunion was oddly handled. They announced all the NYC shows ages in advance. Then they announced a ton of other shows including a bunch of pre-Coachella shows in New Zealand. Then their Coachella set was sandwiched between Phoenix and Thom Yorke.

If I recall, Orbital and Pavement had a small crowd while 70K people stood around at the Outdoor Theater waiting for Jesus and his band to start playing. It was epic.
Pavement simply had no shot going up against "1901" and getting a decent spot for Thom Yorke, irrespective of their level of popularity and perceived exclusivity at the time. Too bad for those who missed; "Grounded" and "Unfair" ("that's the '90s in a nutshell") were among my favorite Coachella moments ever.
I throughly enjoyed orbital partly because of this^ (faxman's) reason...Thanks Jesus!
GYBE is playing Fernwood. I'm pretty sure the promoter of the show knows where he's booked them.

btw... I'm not sure anyone else noticed this, but in regards to the whole venue concern for big sur, folkyeah's facebook announcement actually said "Fernwood Resort (campground stage)", not just Fernwood Resort. maybe they aren't going to be crammed into the bar and will be playing outdoors instead.
either way I just emailed them to find out. I plan on getting a ticket to this.
I guess they're not playing inside? Campground stage?

they are playing outside. that's super awesome.

Are you expecting like 1000 people to be there? It's going to be small, probably like Henry Miller.
"How long will this last, this delicious feeling of being alive, of having penetrated the veil which hides beauty and the wonders of celestial vistas? It doesn't matter, as there can be nothing but gratitude for even a glimpse of what exists for those who can become open to it."
