Can't wait for January!
I had never listened to Godspeed You! until recently and they are fucking amazing. I can't wait until January... hopefully they make 1 of the 9 American shows in L.A.
November with onsale dates in December would be my guess
Thread bump with no info? That's no less aggravating than when the same thing happens in the Portishead thread.![]()

Godspeed You! Black Emperor to soundtrack animated short
Post-rock’s expansion in the 90s as textured instrumental pieces that borrow from jazz fusion and 80s electronica (thanks to later efforts from Slint, Talk Talk, and Tortoise), seemed to take a term for the epic right around the turn of the century. In retrospect, Godspeed You! Black Emperor was more a reflection of the darker days to come in the naughty aughts. Its apocalyptic builds and morbid themes couldn’t have fit more congruently with life in 2000-2002, their formative recording years.
As we forge ahead into the teens, I sure could use a little more Godspeed in my life. So, while we wait for those masterful Montreal musicians to put out some new music, lets watch some animated shorts with their music as soundtrack. Clyde Henry Productions, made up of directors Chris Lavis and Maciek Szcerbowski, are using the music of Godspeed You! Black Emperor as the basis for their new short, L’Annee De L’os (via Twitchfilm). Their previous film was the Oscar nominated short Madame Tutli-Putli, which featured music by semi-GY!BE side project Set Fire To Flames. Their new film is reported to be “a seven minute experiment of sound and form” and will hit the film festival circuit this fall. No word on whether this will be new Godspeed music, but at the very least you can check out a still from the film to the right.
More tiny bubbles of life are also surfacing from the GY!BE camp. They will be curating the ATP Nightmare Before XMAS this December in London December 3-5th, and a small UK tour will follow immediately after ATP. Please come to America.
NO MOAR UNNECESSARY BUMPS.

Unnecessary bumps are not nearly as bothersome as unnecessary threads

My problem is that it's not telling us anything that we didn't already know. Hence, the unnecessariness of the bump.

The post was about possible new GYBE music... Granted it's probably going to be an older song worked into the film but still it's relevent "new" news. Of course it isn't the tour dates.... which need to come soon
