Let's go on a livin' spree!
Someone needs to do a venn diagram of Pearl Jam concertgoers, Dave Matthews Band concertgoers, and the resulting intersection: People who have considered slipping roofies to a girl during a party at their frat house.
didn't pearl jam play the polo fields like 5 years before the first cchella/ i heard it from some locals at the ralphs on 111 on my way in in2001.

That's 48 shows. Out of those 48 shows, 23 shows were festival appearances, or in other words...48% of their shows were at festivals. If that doesn't spell "festival whores", then I don't know what does. Also that was in a span of 16 months, not "2 years"...so again, congratulations on being wrong...continue sucking DP's nuts.
It wouldn't bother me in the slightest if Daft Punk returned to Coachella.
Just sayin'.
I disagree with this. It might not have been there best performance i am guessing, mainly due to Eddies sick voice. However it was my first time seeing them and before hand I was just whatever about them. Upon the completion of that set I am now a big Pearl Jam fan, they do not do anything fancy but kill it live.
i regard pearl jam as i do the eagles. they have lots of fans and i don't really know why. they're not terrible.. but i just don't really like them. if their shows aren't good, and their new stuff isn't either, then why should they headline??

But their shows are good. When I saw them at OSL the only song that I remember that was off Backspacer was The Fixer. However this was before that album came out and The Fixer was the only single released at the time. However they have such a back catalog and the sets are the vast majority of older stuff and very little new stuff is being played. And once in 2011 if they do headline Backspacer would be out for two years already so they would not be promoting it as heavy so you might get even less. Point is that they are an awesome live band.
I think the problem here is most folks didn't count the European festivals. since most of them have probably never even heard of a 3rd of them. But yeah, almost anyone that tours Europe can pretty much be a festival whore. Even the Knife when they toured in 06. .
