I'm thinking about it. It'd be a pain in the ass to try to carry that much stuff around in your pockets. Maybe not a full size backpack, but some kind of...small..thing..that's not a purse, or a fanny pack (eghk).

I have this sort of smaller scale messenger bag purse this that I used in 05 that I'll probably get back out this year. It's big enough to put a light sweater in plus an extra bottle of water, along with all the normal stuff wallet phone, glasses etc. But it's small enough that it doesn't get too much in the way when you're squishing through tight crowds of people. I just sling it over my shoulder and I'm good to go.

I would think backpacks would induce a larger amount of back sweat, as well as be an open invitation for aspiring pickpockets.

If I had shoulders, I would totally do that. Purses always slide off me, and I hate the over-the-neck thing. It's painful.

im just bringing a slimmed down version of my wallet and a light hoodie. i kind of dont want to bring a hoodie but it might be necessary for he ngiht time. its still april and the desert

i have one of those draw stringy sack type backpacks. they're really cheap, you can find them everywhere, and they aren't as bulky as regular backpacks. it's basicaly a fabric bag with two small straps for your arms.

in it i will have.. some matt thing to sit on (the kind that roll up & tie), my essential crap (phone, keys, etc) a light hoodie, and my camera. i should be able to fit an extra bottle of water in there too. i don't want to be standing in line more than i need to.

Um yeah - they won' t let you in with those camelbacks.

The way I look at it the less backpacks the better. Think every 2/3 packs is like anothter person in front of you, ugh.

If you can, leave it - or just use one for the group and rotate who has it, we've done it in the past and it works great.

They'd rather have people die of thirst than have the ability to fill an empty bladder with water purchased inside the grounds. I mean, it would be too complicated, you know. If you allow festival-goers to come in with empty camelbaks, ie water hydration devices, then soon people will be trying to bring in water buffaloes.

baby wipes (keeps you cool, and gets the sweat/dirt off)
flip flops (I put them on once inside the venue, and wear them until the evening when it cools off) (I only slip on my superstars if in a cazy crowd)
I also bring an extra plastic bag to but my shoes in, or other stuff.


btw Do not put any valuables in the outside pocket. I always put mine inside one of my shoes at the bottom of my backpack underneath my hoodie. If this is not an option, there are always cheap $2 masterlocks that fit on backpacks.

Also if you bring shoes in addition to flip flops, put as much as you can inside your shoes while in the backpack. It not only save space, it keeps these items safe, and it prevents them from poking you in the back.

backpack...i have alot of pot to sell this year...and mescaline,shrooms,special k, ecstacy,black tar heroin, hash, opium hash,, cocaine and a whole multi colored collection of uppers, downers, laughers, screamers... Also, a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether, and two dozen amyls. Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get into a serious drug collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can
