wow. imagine a cold coachella.
Iron Maiden, Boards of Canada and Underworld for 2013
Last year on Thursday night it was pretty chilly. More than one winter coat was spotted that night. By Sunday morning it was pretty fucking hot. More than one bikini was spotted that day. Springtime weather in the desert is a roll of the dice. Pack a coat and some shorts with a stocking cap and flip flops.
Glad someone started this thread. Weather.com only predicts 10 days (so through the 8th), but they have:
4/06 82°/58°
4/07 85°/59°
4/08 85°/59°
Sunny all three days, ten days before the fest. A T-storm during Coachella would be nuts.
The weather has consistently spiked for that weekend for the past 5 years or so.
imagine how awesome it would be if it hailed?
the weather is hard to predict at this point but it is cool to know we are close to hitting the 15 day mark for coachella! my coachella vacation starts 2 weeks from tomorrow!
two weeks from today is the last day for me, then it is a week long furlough for Coachella, or perhaps Coldchella.

Lightning.

I'm part of the "hotter the better" crowd. Mid 90's highs/60 degree lows would be great. We know it will be hot and sunny we just won't know the temperatures for a while.

That pretty much means no moonlight, which means awesome lights in the sky.
I feel like people were talking about how cold it was gonna be last year too, seemed pretty damned hot to me. I hope it's hot as hell this year too, it's half the fun
Bottle Rock, Napa Valley, May 9-12
Bjork, Craneway Pavillion. May 22nd
Philip Glass Koyaanisqatsi, Davies Symphony Hall May 26th
Every year, the forecast looks to be colder than usual, then a couple days before it goes right back to the upper 90's plus.

For 2011
Thunderstorms at Festivals are good and bad. I went to a festival here in Aus and it sat around 40 degrees Celsius (104F i think that is) the whole time and then on the last night there was a major storm right on top of us just as Midnight Juggernauts played. It was still super hot, Midnight Juggernauts playing, with rain coming down and lightning everywhere you looked. One of the most amazing experiences of my life. They had to cut the set halfway through though as the lightning got really wild which was the bad part.

T-Storms are no joke.
T-Storms hitting the Tesla Coil while activated = win.
But seriously, living in Phoenix we see some wicked shit during the monsoon. While the odds of being struck are not great, they aren't remote either, especially in a large field. There's a reason golfers get struck probably more than anybody.
Edit: And no, god doesn't hate golfers.

yeah, rain at coachella would be the most epic thing to ever happen..
and it is weird that the last three Stagecoach's had cooler weather than Coachella, every year, despite the fact that it's a week later..
i think 90-95 would be perfect, and it would keep it from being too cold at night..
I agree... coming from MN... where it's actually been unseasonably warm the past 2-3 weeks... even in the high 60s some days. Could reach 70 today... it's been cold as fuck the past 4-5 months, and our summers are always too short anyway. So I'll always take really hot over really cold.
This was Sunday afternoon during Stars set at the main stage. Only thing that kept me bailing on that set. Damn it was hot before it got overcast midway through.
