wow. you figure with such a postive festival with love and music everywhere police would find something better to do then be such buzz kills. end of the day. cops will always be ego tripping fucks who are out to bust balls and kill your vibe. look for the tell tale signs...mustaches,stupid bandana's,over sized glasses, vintage beer shirts, and finally stupid attempts of trying to sound cool. and im sure they are monitoring this forum to so to all you undercover cops go fuck yourselves!
Im running this trip as long as I can.

Narcs at festivals are the lowest of the low. How are we supposed to respect authority that is not respect worthy?

I have to agree with you on this one.

I would never be stupid enough to try and hide drugs in my glove box, but regardless, I am worried it might be an issue. My glove box is broken and stuck shut. Hyundai dealership quoted me over $200 to fix, and I didn't have anything valuable or important inside it when it broke, so I've just decided to leave it that way.

I hadn't really thought of it as a problem until I read that post on this thread. I'm hoping they won't try to deny me entry if they can't open my glove box when entering the campgrounds. That would really suck...

Last year they tried to open my glove box and when they couldn't, they took my tickets then ripped them up. Be careful jdoom.

I'm sorry I'm having trouble believing that story, not to say your an asshole or anything (I know that may come off as sardonic but it's not meant to be). If it really came down to a stuck glove box you would think, if it was really a big problem for them, that they would just let you leave the campgrounds and just find accommodations elsewhere or the means to have the door to your compartment fixed the next day, at least give you the option to do so. Did they tear your car camping ticket or your actual festival ticket before you got the wristbands? Both seem excessive, I can almost believe the car camping pass being torn if you got a security guard on a bad night, but I still don't think it was justifiable.

Me and a buddy have been going since '08 and we pretty much smoke herbs openly.. usually sitting down in the middle of the crowd... nothing crazy has happened but this thread gives me pause to think.

    1) Don't be obvious
    2) Don't smoke if you have anything on you that you are really worried about the cops finding
    3) DON'T ACCEPT MONEY FROM STRANGERS FOR ANY REASON

follow those three rules and you will be fine.

there were cops at Coachella this year.....???

or maybe they were all outside the fest keeping the gate crashers out like i anticipated. Only cops i saw were on horses, and golf carts (2 at a time). But very very minimal this year.

^^pretty much. the only cops i ever saw was pulling into car camping from the search checkpoint. we were slowly moving with the flow of traffic into lot 8, and my gf needed a beer so she just hopped out of the car while we are going like 2 miles per hour and jogs behind the car to open the trunk to get a beer out of the cooler. 2 cops in a golf cart are pulling by and all they say is "really need that beer, huh?" kinda funny. felt pretty free this year.

When people ask me for drugs it goes a little like this

them "hey you have any pills?"
    me "you want some updog?"
    them "what's up dog?"
me "what up man!" *high five*

usually goes pretty well. This year I was asked for drugs once a day whenever I was near the sahara tent...hence I moved over to the mohave. sahara was sketchy this year.

I was asked for drugs every day, multiple times per day, usually near the Sahara or the Do Lab.

The answer is always "no", c'mon now.

Someone I know who I hate got busted this year for being stupid and selling a hit of L to an undercover. Suits him right for being such an asshat.

this year people were very nice and generous with their bud. way more than last year. whenever i was asked for a lighter, cus stoners are always losing their damn lighter, they always offered a little toke. last year that did not happen once.

i was asked for drugs once this year inside the fest, and it was surprisingly when i was completely sober. i was just dancing my ass of for shpongle, probably like a lunatic. the campgrounds were a different story, every night i was approached numerous times by random people looking for pretty much every substance known to man.

I was asked for "pills" in Mojave during Cut Copy. I was dancing like a fiend and looked the part. Of course, I said, 'no,' and she (she did not look the part) moved on. As soon as she did, a couple next to me said she was undercover and saw her bust someone earlier.

I cut my dreads off a few weeks ago and this was the first time I've gone to Coachella without them. I only got asked for drugs maybe 3 times over the entire weekend compared to almost every other act the past years.

In the Oasis Dome I felt you could spot undercovers easily. There were always people there who just stood still, mean mugging everyone else.

Constantly asked for drugs in the campgrounds, one guy was really sketchy after Arcade Fire on the way out and wasn't really asking for drugs but would not stop hounding me about what I was on, gave off a bad vibe, kind of ran away from him.

I never get asked for drugs, probably because I am an old man. However, a kid...reminding me very much of Ted Theodore Logan...walked into our campsite sitting area and politely said "Hello there, would any of you like to buy some pot?" He was so polite and wholesome about it, reminded me of a kid selling Grit magazine.
