Lake Cahuilla Camping. On-site car camping alterniative

There are more trees than I would have expected in the desert however, I would not consider it "wooded". The Overflow has less trees than the RV spots.

there are a few scattered trees that are prime camping spots(for the shade), but they get taken up pretty quickly. otherwise theres some brush here and there and a ton of sand. and it's all at the base of some beautiful mountains.

its hot as hell come 8am and their are about 3 trees on the grounds, but its a fucking good time. bring earplugs if you actually want to sleep.

I didn't think it was that loud. I mean, I was up late partying, but there wasn't that much loud music. I slept fine, until about 7:30am. It is impossible to sleep in! Unless your in an R.V.

Was anyone in here in the group of people in the overflow, that left Sunday morning Last year, cause they had finals or something. Anyways this dude climbed out of his tent and said "HOT TENTS!" It became a one liner for my friends and I. Whenever we talk about Lake Cahuilla.

I have a reservation for one overflow at Cahuilla Fri-Sun, but coachella sold out before I had the money for a ticket. If anyone has an extra ticket they will sell for face value, I'm interested. If I don't find a ticket I will be selling this reservation and If I do find a ticket I'm willing to give a few people a ride into the campground if needed.

doesn anyone know how strict lake cahuilla is about the 6 person per lot limit? i've never had more than 5 people in the past so it was never an issue. but might have 7 this year. maybe if the 7th person comes seperate, not in our car?

They will only let you in if you are in a vehicle that has a Lake Cahuilla camping pass.

Each site is allowed two cars. If you have two cars each one will have a pass. You will be fine. Three cars, and you're screwed.

I have a reservation by myself, since my lazy friends took too long to buy their tix. So if they let me I'll be happy to add a car onto my reservation. I'm not sure how that works, but e-mail me so we can figure it out.

I don't think it has been mentioned yet, but Lake Cahuilla has a swimming pool. I'm pretty sure that is something onsite camping doesn't have. We were pretty excited last year when we were wandering around in 100 degree weather, with a fifth of Jack, and we stumbled upon that. I can't wait to go back!

I have a sweet spot in the reserved sections w/ hookups that I can't use (I'm now in New Zealand until May), the days are friday through monday. Anyone know if I can hand this over to someone else who can use it? I have the confirmation email. cheers.

The riverside county website says you can fish the lake, anyone do this before? Some tasty fish for breakfast would good.
