Well, this thread was kind of needed. Lets discuss previous and upcoming parties that have or are being held for Dim Mak Tuesdays @ Cinespace.

4/20 is probably the only day i will make it out to this all year because it's Busy P's birthday celebration and every year it goes off. last year it was The Whip, Ed Banger Rotation with everyone but Oizo and Justice pretty much and Thomas Bangalter closing it out for the last 20 minutes, amazing.

Wait. What? $5 or free w/RSVP and open bar? Is this where Hudson Mohawke is playing next week? Someone please explain the cover/bar situation cause as of right now, my Tuesday night next week just got a whole lot better.

This explains the current open bar policy...

As far as cover goes, i don't know much about the current way they do it but i think it's free before 10:30 with RSVP and $5 after. Without RSVP i believe it's $5 before 10:30 and $10 after, but don't hold me to that because i might be completely wrong.

Thanks, Distorted. I will be hitting the bar every half hour then. Looking into RSVP now. It will be most excellent if I can get away with just paying for food and gas that night.

This week there is no RSVP
and the other weeks even if you RSVP and get there early you still pay $5

I'm more concerned about next week but $5 is nothing, especially when there are free drinks to be had.

ok, so I went last night for the first time since they have changed the policy. It was decent, no RSVP for Uffies first show back in a year and a half so guest list was let in from 10-10:30 giving them the open bar for that first half hour. I was lucky enough to be at the front of the line (got there around 9) so I still was able to enjoy the last couple minutes of "open bar" before it ended at 10:30. THEM JEANS would come on the mic every so often to announce that the bar would be free for 5 minutes, so it wasn't really "every half hour" but at least twice within the hour. we didn't get pop the glock, i believe dan sena came on and i wanted to get going. uffie did make it a house party by pulling everyone up on stage, very fun!

just rsvp@dimmak.com, get there by 9:40 to guarantee you'll be in by a little after 10 on most nights.

It was actually over 20 mins. one guy has it all up on youtube split in 3 diff parts.

I went through three songs before I left during the fourth song. She went on pretty late and there was girl fights around where I was. I bet security wasn't digging the people stage crashing. I spotted a Black Eyed Pea and Fat Lip from The Pharcyde in the house. The long was insanely long to get in and even when I left there was STILL a line...

She went on around 12:40. I listened to three songs then the fight had started so she walked off stage and the DJ just played pop the glock while things got situated and then she sang one more after that. She ended by 1:30 then I was outta there.

Are you guys kidding? Uffie played for like 20 minutes--30 at the most--then took off. She was also pretty inaudible from anywhere you stood in the room. Steve Aoki also walked on stage for 5 minutes.

it was fifty minutes.

she went on at 1240 right when them jeans announced her presence and after the fight, she stood on stage for another 10 minutes not doing anything then had it in her to sing one more, ending at 130...doing the math, that's 50 minutes. *edit- whether or not she performed the whole time, that's a different argument.

but point well stated. 20 minutes of uffie for the most part.

I've never said it was more or less than 20, i recall it being about 20 minutes. Anyone who thinks it was less than 20 is full of shit.

I did after seeing the White Stripes doc at EchoPlex. I wasn't going to go until a friend I haven't seen in a long time said he was going and needed help getting in. The line was INSANE. I thought Daft Punk was spinning again by the looks of it but it was just Uffie. She was alright for not playing a year and a 1/2. I wouldn't have gone but me and my friend did a lot of catching up waiting till 12:30 for her to go on. Girls in the crowd were in fighting mode. We left before she even finished.
