Anybody going to Broken Bells and The Morning Benders at Humphrey's on Tuesday 5/18? Also, can someone tell me about Humphrey's? How's the sound and seating arrangement? Its one of the only venues I've never been to in San Diego. I think its because they usually have stuff old people would enjoy, like Crosby Stills and Nash, Diana Ross, etc.
I guess that means I'm getting old.
there's no reason young people shouldn't be into old music... i think well over half the music in my own collection was recorded before i was born
every day, every year
nice, i like that... that was my mother's day weekend t-shirt
every day, every year
I will be at the Broken Bells show Tuesday @ Humphrey's with two friends. I have never been.
The seating arrangements look terrible. I have a feeling I will not be satisfied with our spots, and likely will steal someone else's.
Che Cafe has a whole lot of great shows coming up all of the sudden. Should make this summer even better than the last.
This Friday 5/21 -- $7, 8PM

Obits are also playing the Casbah with The Night Marchers the night before! San Diego, fuck yeah!
For the record, Broken Bells last night was the worst show I've ever been to in my life. We got there late, you know, not expecting the headlining act to play all of 45 minutes. We only caught 3 of apparently 11 songs. Seating was terrible, as expected. The band didn't move an inch the whole show. This is the last time I give James Mercer my money. Fuck James. Fuck The Shins. Fuck Dangermouse. Fuck Broken Bells. FUCK HUMPHREY'S FOR KICKING OUT A FEW HUNDRED DRUNK PEOPLE AT 10PM.
FUCK!
Why Humphrey's? What a poor choice of venue. Bummer dude....
Fuck dangermouse?
Damn you. He is a great producer.
I remember wanting to get a ticket for the Rodrigo Y Gabriela show and looking at the seating, thinking it looked horrible. No way did I want to pay $50 to sit in what looks like rows of chairs behind rows of chairs - no real incline or anything. Is that how it was?
my show with Dom Kennedy, TiRon, G.o.D. Jewels and Goldsmith tonight at U-31. $5. gonna be siiick.
If you even REMOTELY like hip-hop this is a big show.
Dom and TiRon are from LA, I flew Jewels out from Chi-Town for his first CA show, and Goldsmith is my artist from SD...

anyone else going to The National on Sunday?
Hey San Diego, I'm looking forward to visiting you August 11th, 2010 to see My Morning Jacket at SDSU Open Air Theatre with doors opening at 6:30, show 7:30 with opening act of Avi Buffalo. Tickets are $35.00, $25.00.
There it is...
I'm losing my edge...
I had a good time at Broken Bells. 7th row from stage, got there between acts, in time to get about 4 drinks. I wasn't sure if I was in the right seats, but nobody said anything.
And, Humphrey's has the best selection of beer, liquor and wine I've ever seen at a music venue, with decent prices. My Stone IPAs were $5, and you can get a mai tai for $10 and keep the glass.
I'd post some vids, but youtube isn't being cooperative with my uploads for some reason.
