It's good Paul, the sound is good, it's a pretty big place(think a bit bigger then a House of Blues), try to get there early for a good spot. Watch it though, it is in a sketchy part of downtown SD. There will be a lot of bums in the area, and a smell you can't quite figure out.

Haha, I grew up everywhere around there, but spent the longest (about six years) on Lotus and Sunset Cliffs. I'm in OB right now, visiting for a few days. I still got a place on Newport right across the street from the school. It's the oldest property on Newport, you'd recognize it for sure.

And the Antlers and Phantogram fucking killed the Casbah last night. I loved that venue but the security were super pricks. Can't wait until the Avett Bros tonight...

Relatively unknown? And wtf at 30, I had to buy mine for 100 off stubhub a few weeks ago because they've been sold out for months

hahahaha. you paid 100 bucks for avett bros? jesus christ man. i hope theyre one of your favorite bands. not to rub it in, but when i checked ticketmaster a few days before the show i was able to pull up tickets no problem. maybe they released more. i didnt get them though, kind of regret it now...

They are one of my very favorite bands and all of my friends already had tickets. There were only 4 tickets even left on stubhub, hence their ridiculous prices.

Why would ticketmaster release tickets all of a sudden out of nowhere right before the concert? Everyone at the show also talked about how it had been sold out for a long while.

this happens all the time, actually. so how was the show? kind of kicking myself for missing it, but had just bought a bunch of other concert tickets, so decided to hold off on this one...

It was great. They played November Blue for us after huddling about it, obliging our chants after every damn song (they NEVER play it live). That was awesome, though I really wish Scott would have played the piano on it.

To be honest, I actually enjoyed the COachella show better just because of how much I dislike the HoB venue. It's fantastic if you have good seats, but they pack that bitch way too tight to the point that at least half of the total audience has obstructed views from under all the banisters and shit. The Coachella audience was a lot more laid back too.

I had a blast though, just should have gotten better seats.

yea, i hate that place when its that packed too. nice venue otherwise though...

Anyone going to see Mono at Casbah on Thursday?

Also Chali 2na & the House of Vibe with Vokab Company at Soundwave. What is this place in Mission Beach? New?

I'm really gonna try and drag some people out for The Twelves on Sunday.

Oh so Ocean Beats was FUN. I wish more people I knew went instead of bailing cause the music was fucking great. I can't wait to hear what Eliot Lipp drops at LiB and Reset. Anyway, very chill crowd. Everyone around me was dancing the whole time. Oh will people spread the word that it is not acceptable to interrupt one's groove to hit on them with a cheesy line or to grind up on their ass? Some of you guys are completely clueless.

    Basslines interuppted?

Anyways I think I'm coming out for The Black Keys at the end of September. I know that's a life time away, I'm just saying.

B, maybe we can watch the NIN dvd that weekend?

Soundwave is what used to be Canes. I think Live Nation owns it now, along with the Wavehouse. They remodeled and made it a little more upscale. The new layout is a little better...more room around the dance floor area.

Also, I'm 85% going to the twelves.

ah ok, I remember Canes. Let me know if you're definitely in for The Twelves. I'm still bummed I didn't see you AT ALL at Coachella and I never see you in SD for shows!!!

Is anyone going to Mono? So far I am just going solo...

I don't care who's playing at the Casbah, I'm not going back there until they get some new security. I was warned about them beforehand, but fuck... total pricks
