Apparently the 4th year, location tba, etc. etc. last year it was at the Venue of scottsdale. They utilize all local DJs which is cool, *assuming* they aren't complete shit.

I thought they had 2 shows at the Crescent. Did this one replace those, or was I mistaken about them being at Crescent?

EDIT: Must be Young the Giant who's playing the Crescent. You can see why there was confusion. Stupid fucking band name trend, "(something) the (something)."

Mark Foster will be fine writing pop jingles for future products such as Soylent Green. The other guys not so much. Writing this reminded me of the end of Dig when the TBJTM dissolves and the tambourine player realizes he has no life skills and that most other bands don't need a full time tambourine player. I almost felt bad for the guy, but he ran around being such a pompous jackass during the entire film.

Holy crap! I thought Blondie at about $50 a ticket (after fees) a few months ago was pricy.

Sweet, sweet. Haven't gotten my ticket to that show yet. I put that down as a wish item, so we'll see if I get that come Sunday, otherwise I'll just make the purchase on Monday.

I got excited and bought tickets for the Adolescents, I didn't realize it was on the same night as Wilco, so now I have tickets for both. I wonder if the Wilco show will end early enough to run over to the Clubhouse and watch the Adolescents.

That isn't true. I started wearing bandanas when I was a kid. I would wear them when I was in Arizona over the summers visiting my dad because he would get them for me and we would go hiking. I have always worn them because it keeps the sweat out of my eyes.

I did idolize Axl as a teen though and my 3 letter initials I put in video games was always AXL. I also watched the Illusion tour on PPV and my friend Jennie wrote Nobody Knows I'm a Lesbian on my arm in calligraphy after the show was over because Axl was wearing that shirt during the show. That PPV was pretty awesome and memorable, tons of special guests and Axl had a classic random rant against Warren Beatty regarding his relationship with Madonna at the time.

I skipped all of Sebastian Bach and got drunk from 6-10PM at Seamus Mccaffery's.
Here are some barely readable thoughts about the show I typed up. The intro was the theme song to Dexter which was pretty cool. Axl was in a great mood.

I will say I should have stayed in the seats I snuck into on the floor. The energy was just so much better down there. I was also fairly wasted as some guy passed me a joint right as the show started and then insisted I keep hitting it and I had a tough time refusing. i went fucking nuts when "it's so easy" started. People in the section were all rocking out hard and high fiving after songs. It was a lot of fun. I bailed though because I wanted to watch with the people I came with so I made my way back up to the balcony for the rest of the show. I bailed a bit early too because i needed more water and then got a popcorn. I would definitely see that show again though.

I made it to the encore. Looks lilke I missed some instrumentals, a newer song and then Patience and Paradise city. I can't stress how good they sounded. I would just tighten up the show a bit and make it a ...solid 2 hours instead of close to 3 or more. There is a lot of bloat and over production which is the same criticism Chinese Democracy the album gets. I swear I looked all aorund the theater during one of DJ Ashbas guitar solos and no one was interested or moving. Glad I went, it was a great show and a good time. I should also note that when I left at 2:00AM more than 80% of the crowd was still there and having a great time. It was definitely more alive than most shows at Comerica and the sound was really top notch last night, both on the floor seat and in the balcony (2nd row center).

It comes out of the gates with such a bang. I think It's so Easy into Mr. Brownstone was the best part of the night and that's not to say it was all downhill from there, just that it was so great I was jumping up and down. I think the mistake I made was heading back to my real seats in the balcony about 5 songs in. People were into it up there but there was definitely more excitement on the floor. I know those instrumental breaks were always there, I just don't enjoy them so much but I think that has less to do with who doing them and more to do with the selections. I liked the Stinson song, it was very indie punk sounding. I don't see him ever stopping the cover of Knockin' on Heavens door but can we get rid of Live and Let Die and the cheezy fireworks that come along with it? ha ha. I'm just being critical but I would see that show again, I just might have to leave early. He started around 11 so that was a plus, god knows if he started any later I might have cried about that too even though i've been one of his biggest defenders. It was a great experience though, pitchfork rating, I give the concert a 7.5/10.

It's silly how much attention has been given to Axl being fat, out of breath and sounding like crap. A couple bad photos and a bad clip from youtube of one song out of the thousands performed during this tour.

The show was just last night so you won't find many great youtubes yet but here is a good video from the L.A. show last week which was streamed and Axl sounds as good as ever, if you don't think so, I highly doubt you ever heard them live back in the 90's.
