I had a lot of fun at Farina. I didn't remember most of it though.

A good turnout? Whatcha think about monarch?
Fiona Apple 9/18 Mesa az.
How much are tickets? I'm guessing 50-60.

Good turnout, probably at about 80% capacity. Presale response was good from my conversations with the promoters, say 66% was sold in presale which he said was unheard of.
Sound was decent and simply put I had a good time. Positive vibes from the crowd. I think the place has potential to be a mainstay for these types of shows. Not so sure about other music though, it's really a clubby vibe*.
*but not a douchey one.

I am very strongly considering Morrissey (don't like Fiona).

Your mainest boy.
I want to see Fiona, how is that venue? It's pretty nice, isn't it? Good sound?
If I can't get work off, I'm doing both Tallest Man on Earth shows (he's playing hotel congress fest) the day prior.

Anyone going to Yeasayer? That would be a great 1,2,3 punch for me.

Holy shit, this is an awesome fucking day for concert announcements. Mesa Arts Center website doesn't even have the Fiona event listed yet. 1600-person venue -- I want to be right up front. Morrissey & Tallest Man on Earth both go on sale this Friday. TMOE $17.50 before fees. Anyone familiar with whether the Marquee has presales or is the general feeling that Morrissey isn't likely to sell out immediately?
Do you mean if you CAN get work off? And who else is playing that Hotel Congress fest?
I'm in the process of finding out.

I was more commenting on the syntax. You used "can't," probably meant "can." Just clarifying.
I think these announcements not only mean we're not going to Yeasayer but probably not Psychedelic Furs either. And my purchase of a Metric ticket is going to be delayed even further. Priorities.
EDIT: Just realized the process you're currently in to find out is with regard to who else is playing the Congress fest.
I think Congress is still finalizing the details. The Tallest Man on Earth is headlining though.
EDIT* Should be pretty cheap as well. It was 5 per day when DeVotchka headlined a couple of years back.

http://blogs.phoenixnewtimes.com/upo...ng_to_mesa.phpWell, how's this for a good East Valley announcement day? Not only is Morrissey headed to Tempe's Marquee Theatre in November, but singer/songwriter Fiona Apple has announced a tour that brings her to the Ikeda Theater at Mesa Arts Center on Tuesday, September 18.
Touring in support of her highly anticipated new record, the ridiculously titled The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than The Driver of The Screw And Whipping Cords Will Serve You More Than Ropes Will Ever Do (it's one of our five summer picks, actually), which is due out on Tuesday, June 19. Perhaps, if you're interested in hearing it, you could buy the damn thing at a store or download it via a legitimate MP3 retailer.
Apple is also scheduled to appear on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon tonight on NBC, and recently released the video for the album's first single, "Every Single Night." Tickets are available on Saturday, June 23 according to Apple's site. More info as we get it.
Here's all that's shown on her website, by the way: http://www.fiona-apple.com/tour.html
ALSO, I'm going to buy her album tomorrow at Zia but just took a look at the listing on iTunes and see that there's a special bonus track that I'm presuming is an iTunes exclusive. That's fucking annoying -- I want a physical copy of it and am not about to pay for it twice just for one fucking song. So if anyone else gets the album on iTunes & can be so kind as to upload "Largo," that'd be swell.
Fiona Apple - $49.50 & $59.50
"Tickets go on sale this Saturday, June 23 at www.livenation.com and the Mesa Arts Center box office. To charge by phone call (480) 644-6500."

Morrissey - $49.50
"Tickets, which are $49.50, go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, June 21, at luckymanonline.com, the Marquee box office and all Bookman's bookstores."

I just copied & pasted from the AZ Central website. Are you trying to tell me that fine news organization had a typo? No. I refuse to believe it.
(Not gonna edit it or else your post would seem unnecessary. I'm looking out for you, Amy.)
Regarding Fiona in Mesa, hopefully I have some sort of connection to the world via phone or internet come Saturday morning. I'll be at some cabin in Heber this weekend. Unless of course someone can buy me a ticket. I can paypal you cash if so. UPS delivered her new album to me yesterday.
Anyone considering a trip to L.A. to see David Byrne and St. Vincent?
Well, I hope it means Friday, Rick.
