Chvrches was fun last night. Sold out show at the Marquee and the big crowd was into it. The singer's voice sounded good live. She said it was their first time in Arizona, but she knew about it because of Jimmy Eat World. They brought the biggest light show I've seen in a while.
Did anybody know Seth Troxler was at the Monarch on Wednesday?
I'm not sure if I'm just out of the loop or the promoters are dropping the ball on these shows. Checked out some of their past ones and they've brought out Daniel Avery, Waze & Odyssey, and Ejeca along with a ton of DFA artists.
It's most likely I'm just out of the loop.
The sound at the Monarch is great, but their floors are like seriously made out of flypaper. I lost a fucking shoe there. And I wasn't wearing flip flops, either. Mop the fucking floor once a day, for fucks sake.
i hate the bar set-up at monarch. the drinking area is on the left by the bar, but anywhere you'd want to dance is next to a line for the bar. and if you want to use the restroom or sit down or smoke, you gotta give up your drink. the left/right split is so odd and a waste of space. i miss the brickhouse/mason jar method of putting the all-ages area up front and the drinkers in the back.
Rumors on a couple of Macca sites say that a Phoenix show on Aug. 12 at Jobing.com Arena will be announced soon. Apparently Phoenix and Missoula are the last shows that will be announced for his summer tour.
Would happily pay 2-2.5 times what Interpol tickets cost to see Paul McCartney in Phoenix, though.
It's official. Only thing the rumor was wrong about was the venue.
US Airways Center
On sale Monday, May 5
Come see Vinyl Station with me this Thursday at Crescent.
Wow, according to Ticketmaster, prices for Macca start at just $36 after fees. I'm sure there aren't many at the price.
There is a presale on PaulMcCartney.com happening at 9 a.m. today. You've had to have been registered with the website before this morning though. I forgot to come back and post this last night. Sorry about that.
