Rick and Jen, are you going to Sharon Van Etten/Tennis tomorrow? I haven't gottena ticket yet, but I missed them at OSL (caught last few songs by Sharon though), and I am tempted to go.
And oh yeah PiL. I need to get on that one too.

Tomas has to decide which show he wants to go to first.
Bah I thought about taking one or both kids to Sharon Van Etten tonight, but it's 16 and up.

Yeah I know I know, but my kids are very polite at shows. I can still get them into the Marquee for stuff, but more bands seem to be gravitating over to the Crescent.

I would much rather go to the Weeknd. I have 3 tickets for Metric, but the other 2 people in my party would much rather go to Metric. I'm going to see if it's cool to ditch out on Metric, and if so, I will have 1 ticket available if you want to buy it from me Amy. I will let you know.
PS-I bought it at the box office so I have the hard ticket, and each ticket came with a download voucher for Metric's new album. I already had the new album before I bought the tickets, so the voucher is still good if you need it.

Matthew Dear @ The Rhythm Room on Monday 10/29.
The Hives - Marquee Theatre - Oct 9
Bought our tickets today. $61 for 2. Better deal than the Weeknd. :-P
So this plus Grimes the night before plus a trip to New York that weekend mean I won't be going to Metric. Glad I didn't have the money to buy a ticket when I first thought about doing so. I'm curious to see how big of a crowd the Hives draw considering that's the same night as Black Keys. Would you say they appeal to a similar enough demographic to hurt attendance for the Hives?
EDIT: Tomas, if you've still got a voucher for the new Metric album, I'll take it.![]()

This ain't no middle of the mall shit.
The Tallest Man on Earth at the Crescent is sold out. Not a big deal since he's also playing in Tucson, but I'd still like to go. Drop me a line if y'all see anything for face value.

Haha, I know, I know. I spent way too much when I was in LA.
EDIT* I still might come up for Tycho/Daedalus/Yeasayer though. Should grab a drink.

I need to say FUCK YEAH again! So many good shows this Fall.
Yes. And having to buy tickets in advance for potential sell outs makes it even harder. But I need to sit down and make a list. Japandroids, Matthew Dear/Light Asylum, PIL, and The Faint/Trust are for sure for me. Did you two get Grimes tickets back in June or July? I'm somewhat surprised it hasn't sold out yet.
Is this the Beer (good beer) thread or is there one specific for AZ that I've missed? Anyways, I might take a new colleague to Brat Haus Friday if anyone was interested in happy hour. Although I'm really jumping the gun with this on Tuesday. We'll probably do something this afternoon too.
You just inadvertently reminded me of Psychedelic Furs, too. That's 4 we're not going to. Others I can think of off the top of my head are Morrissey, Metric, and Bombay Bicycle Club. And that's not to mention Tucson shows, like Beach House. Oh, and we're out for Tycho & Yeasayer/Daedalus as well. Just not enough money!
We actually haven't gotten Grimes tickets yet. I was thinking of doing that this weekend but Faint/Trust is probably going to win out. We're not as concerned about that show since we just saw her in November, so if it sells out, it's not that big of a deal. I/We have tickets for everything that I'm/we're really excited about (Tallest Man on Earth, Twin Shadow, Fiona Apple, PiL).
I haven't gotten tickets for Tycho, Metric, or PiL yet. Still on the fence for those. Since we're sharing.

I'll put it in the 'Good Beer' thread. I just went to my first ASH meeting tonight, holy hell there's a lot of stuff coming up this fall, I need to wrap my head around this. I was sampling pomegranate cherry mead aged for 5 years so my heads not straight at the moment.
