My favorite part of the show. I really hope I get to experience that song live again in my lifetime.

I enjoyed Spiritualized a lot. I went on a recommendation, as I wasn't familiar with them. The Prog/Gospel meld worked really well. I heard homages to several Pink Floyd tunes including Shine on You Crazy Diamond, and one early song seemed to be heavily influenced by Johnny Cash. They did a straight out cover about half way through the set, and please correct me if I wrong, because I think I may be, but I think it was a Yes tune. The only complaint. and it is a minor one, is that the pure sonic interludes in a few of the songs seemed a bit self-indulgent, especially the third one in the last song of the encore, which seemed to last for close to five minutes.

Anyone else see I Break Horses on Monday? It was one of the best shows I have seen all year. I was completely blown away.

Try not to get escorted out by security this time, Mark.

If we could be guaranteed they'll play more than 3 chords for the first 15 minutes, I'd consider wanting to possibly go.

Nope. I was told later that night by my roommates that security in general at the Swans gig was awful. They were also concerned about the floor caving. Rather than regulate how many people came down to the floor and stop allowing people down they decided to just shove people out and then some random kid grabbed me by the back of the shirt as security was already shoving me and the kid was all "get him out of here". I left. None of it really made sense.

I was very drunk but I wasn't doing anything other than standing still and bopping my head. During Public Enemy and Portishead I was running, dancing and jumping up and down but Swans just aren't that kind of music.

I don't think anybody managed to score tickets. I was considering it but decided to hold off since we'll have just gotten back from Mogwai in LA (and I'll have just gotten back from 2 weeks in Georgia as well), then it sold out. Too bad.

A Place to Bury Strangers is apparently playing the Rhythm Room that night as well, so we may go to that.

Next Monday, June 4. They're playing with This Will Destroy You and, according to Songkick, El Paso Hot Button. Tickets are $12. Our decision to go is going to be a day-of decision.

I saw him at SX this past March. His rhymes were solid and he's a good performer, but I'm not really into hip-hop and his type of humor. I think it's from growing up with too many white kids that wanted to be mcs.

I'll probably be there. El-P and Killer Mike's 2012 releases are excellent.

No. Will be at Crescent next Thursday for YACHT, though.

Amy: we're out for A Place to Bury Strangers tonight. Too eventful/exhausting of a weekend.

Is their latest album a good jumping off point, Matt? I've heard "Heaven" a couple times & like it enough to consider going.

Santigold was a lot of fun. Sweaty and loud, and the crowd really had a lot of energy which she seemed to feed off of well.

Embarrased to say this, but that was my first time at the Crescent. Great venue.
