This show will sell out, probably pretty fast. Edward Sharpe is EVERYWHERE. Commercials, movie trailers and VHfucking1 are just a few of the places I've seen/heard them lately. Earlier this year they were playing for a handful of people at Club Congress....

Also, MTV is hyping the shit out of Florence and the Machine. You know, because that fit so well with repeated showings of The Jersey Shore.

    I dunno.

I regret missing the Pumpkins at Gibson's circa 1991. The show was sold out or was 21 and over only or somesuch bullshit, and I couldn't go.

I live in Tucson and I am not sure I even want to see this version of Smashing Pumpkins. It sounds intruiging to an extent I guess..... Anyone see the new version?

Don't trust Jason. He's biased and probably wasn't a big fan back in the day either heh.

The new drummer is pretty great. The new girl on bass is cute. Billy wrote all the music anyway and chances are good it will be a decent show. I'm really leaning towards going. I gave up on the Pumpkins 10 years ago but i'm ready to come back and give them another try.

Cherub Rock sounds great and this is from their webcast concert last week in NY.

I've only seen the Pumpkins in giant venues back in the day so i'm thinking the Rialto coule be awesome. Hearing any Gish, Siamese, MAIFS and Adore songs will definitely be worth it IMO. I just have to decide soon. I have a feeling a venue as small as the Rialto may sell out. The last time they were in town they played the Dodge I think. Last show I saw was the Adore tour at Summerfest in Milwaukee around 1998 or so.

I was a HUGE fan back in the day...which is why i warn to not go. unless you weren't a big fan back then. at which point, you might like the new version of SP. i thought the webcast was horrible...and laughable at some points.

I should probably listen to you Jason and not go to the show to save the cash but it's looking more and more like i'm talking myself into this show. It looks like they are letting fans in for the sound check. Billy has also been posting he is full of love lately and appreciates the support as the fans have been amazing on this tour.

Maybe he's humbled by some of the smaller venues he is playing. It's hard to tell at this point if it's because of what they can draw or if they are just getting used to playing together at some small shows because of new members. This is pretty cool though.

    A NOTE FROM BILLY
Here is some info regarding the 'soundcheck sets' at the various shows...Because of the different venues, unexpected delays with loading in gear, and hassles that can occur with anything from travel to miscommunication, we are not able to set a consistent time with regards to when some fans would be let in to see us play...I also want to ensure that Kill Hannah and Bad City get some kind of soundcheck, so all these factors will impact the duration and the start time...we expect to play at least 5-6 songs each day, and if things go well possibly a little more...No less than the first 20 people in line would be let in, and we will have some system where you wouldn't lose your place in line if you have to go back out of the building...We hope this will be a fun experience for everyone, I know we look forward to trying some of the new material...No audio or video taping will be allowed at these soundcheck sets, so please respect and honor our wishes on that...If things go well, we might let in a few people more.

    Rock on, love BC
