"In a show of resistance to the criminalization of immigrant communities and in opposition to SB1070, recently signed into Arizona legislation, Cypress Hill has elected to cancel a performance scheduled in Tucson for May 21, 2010...."

I hope this doesn't start a trend. You would think artists and performers would want to come here and speak out against the law.

Maybe it's this years day of the dead Calexico show in October or something? Either way i've seen all of these bands plenty enough so it would have to be something like Jay-Z, Leonard Cohen or The National to get me really pumped lol.

The National and Owen Pallet, Rialto, 10/13. Tickets on sale this Friday. Too bad that's in the middle of the week and so close to the wedding or else I'd head down.

EDIT: Yeah, yeah, I should've noticed mountmccabe's post first. Sue me.

Just saw these guys in Tucson a couple weeks ago. It was a very fun show. They seem to play here a few times a year.

Does the bass player still play that big ass balalaika? They kind of went away from that for a while, which is when I sort of lost interest, but I know this is a new incarnation.

Yeah, still rocking the largest electric balalaika I've ever seen. The lineup was two dudes and two ladies.

Welp, I'm off to pick up Rick and heading to Tucson. Adam, I don't think you've checked your PM's, but I forgot to record your number in my phone before I left, and I can't get on Facebook at work because of the nazi regime. I have Matt's cell; I think we're meeting at Congress...maybe around 8? I'll try to log into facebook when I get to Rick's parent's house. I have Matt's number so he may contact you for me. TTYL.
