I'm tempted to go to that. Thursday night shows are rough on me, though.

Thursday night shows are the best because you only have to endure 1 more day of work, but that's really more for "normal" shows that are over by 11 or midnight. Not a Pride party that's gonna go til 3am. I'll get turnt up in your honor on the dancefloor.

So what can you expect from an Animal Collective DJ set? For the price it sounds too good to be true.

Unlikely. The announcement made it seem like he's playing only 3 special LA area dates as album release shows.

Or at least better come back to do a proper show for Lazaretto. For Blunderbuss he only played at OSL and one of the radio fests, right? Or maybe it was Bridge School. Maybe the problem is finding the right venue? Is he too big for the Greek or Bill Graham?

I think Jack White is going to be at Bridge School since He has been doing stuff with Neil young lately yet did play in 2012. I would prefer Bridge school than Treasure Island based on Guedita review of TI. Also if Jack White were to do a solo gig in San Francisco I would think he would play a GV venue like the Warfield since those Los Angeles dates are venues that GV usually books at.

Also just to note it looks like Bridge School announces their lineup the first week of September typically from my google searches.

^ I was thinking this too. I wouldn't be surprised if the headlining act this year at Bridge School is just Jack and Neil. The bookings have been gradually slipping after all....

I kind of figured Jack White would headline TI this year. But his friendship w/Neil makes a Bridgeschool appearance pretty likely as well. And yeah, Bridgeschool isn't announced til September, Hardly Strictly in August.

9/3 - Kins @ Rickshaw Stop. They opened for Courtney Barnett back in February and I remember enjoying them. Shoegazey guitar pop.

    9/12: Shifted @ Mercer
    9/24 - 28: Decibel Festival
    10/3-5: Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival
    10/4: Ought @ BoH

    10/18-19: Treasure Island Music Festival

I've seen an Animal Collective DJ set, and if given the option to again, would spend the money on crank.

Yeesh some crank and a DJ set is kind of ritzy. I could just chase the dragon for the night with that kind of budget.
