I'm a fan of the space. Good sound, dark, and a side room where you can lounge but there are speakers to hear the music still. Bar in the back of the dance floor and the dance floor can get crowded but nothing too uncomfortable. Projections for visuals above the dj booth. Smoking outside not roped off so somewhat ins and out. Biggest gripe is not enough bathrooms.

So is Mercer actually P1 rebranded, or a separate space?

Mercer is being billed as Mighty's "Sister Space" and is owned by Sean and Isabel Manchester (Mighty, Chambers Eat + Drink).

The club side of MERCER features a 1500 square foot dance floor flanked by banquet seating. Sound will be handled by the legendary 222 Hyde TurboSound rig and is powered by hand-made Chevin amps. The DJ booth is the standard set up with two 1200's, two CDJ's and an Allen & Heath XONE92, but can easily be reconfigured to accommodate other set ups as needed. Three HD projectors are also available with two fixed screens in the main room and a third off the bar.

The lounge side of MERCER consists of a variety of intimate seating areas comprised of an eclectic mix of furnishings good for both small and large groups. The combined comfortable capacity will be around 150-200 guests more on a flow. The venue enjoys an abundance of safe, free parking and a central location with easy access from the freeway.

Okay, well, I liked it when I went for the first Surface Tension show. It's definitely a lot different in aesthetic than the old P1 design, though the same challenges (bar bottleneck & intolerably long bathroom lines) apply.

rumored to be looking at a substantial redesign and acquisition of a late night permit. they should gut the main room (eliminate seating on flanks) and move bar to side room. extra space in rear of main room could be used for expanded lavatories

    sound is on point tho

Anyone here been to The Factory before? I'm planning on going to Apex Saturday but haven't been to that venue. Any chance this won't be an over-sold shitshow?

Yea, the address they gave is correct for the old Grand Theater too. We're assuming (hoping?) it's a place holder for an ug.

Both were great at APF. Oh, and Moon Duo is opening for The Horrors in October. Highly recommended.
