Fuckall...yup, it is official now. Just got the word from Slim's. Wow, that really f'ing blows.

Well, at least The Maccabees will be playing my favorite room soon. I cannot wait for that!

Just got my refund from Slim's. I was really excited about El-P / Death Grips weekend.

    EDIT: Yeah.

Soul Clap also completely phoned it in, Eli wasn't even in the booth half of the time, he was out back doing who knows what. Cara and I left at like 1:15 and went to Tiga which was so much better.
Sound for Metro Area was fine. The strength of Monarch's system isn't necessarily the volume, its the clarity. Sound at pw and especially mighty is way, way more muddled. I thought Soul Clap was fun but not anything particularly special. Lazarus was more disappointing. 3rd time seeing him and probably the last. Not bad but thoroughly meh.

Music on saturday was leaps and bounds better than friday.

Yea, Yea, I should have gone to Levon. How could I have known Metro Area would be very good? They were pretty boring the other times I've seen them.

No reason to regret missing Metro Area. Yeah, it was good, but that brand of house/disco is on offer on a weekly basis in the city. Not as though you can't have a comparable experience at James Murphy or Woolfy in the next 2 weeks.

I can't actually, but I'll have to settle for some Slow Hands & Todd Terje.

Fillmore. Still, likely not that quickly. I'm going to the box office on Sunday to get mine. You know the drill.

I haven't been out to a show since we all went to High Contrast/Netsky.
I think James Murphy may be the ticket to get me out again.

Keep in mind it's being promoted as an afterparty for that "love this city" thing. Can't be good for the crowd.

    Too late.
Ticket bought. It's been placed in my calendar.
Hoping the crowd won't be too bad since it's 21+, and also since James Murphy will be playing I Love This City earlier that day, anyways.

Anyway, there are a bunch of bars around where you're staying, basically that whole strip of Folsom has a lot of clubs and bars on it, just walk around and you'll find something you're into. Raven is pretty nice, they have a dancefloor + bar situation.
Thanks a lot. Where are your tickets at?

Awesome, one of the few days a year that I absolutely can't go to a show.
