Thread: Vampire Weekend

    Default Vampire Weekend

I haven't seen many active threads about these guys, but after watching their Giving Up The Gun video, I'm stoked to see them!

They're definitely in my top 5 acts to see this year. I think it'll be interesting, too, because I've had friends go and see them in 'hole-in-the-wall' venues so having them play on a huge stage at Coachella is going to push them to shake up their performance.

Eh. Vampire Weekend. I'm excited. Thoughts?

I can't wait. I love them because their chorus' are completely obnoxious to scream. If you hear some asshole yelling "Blakes gotta new face" it's probably me.

I havn't had the pleasure of seeing White Sky live yet, but something tells me with that many people trying to hit the notes, hilarity will ensue.

    Awesome band. Bring your loafers.

I listened to their first album and didn't really dig it, so I wasn't even thinking about seeing them until I heard the Contra album a few days ago. Now I really want to see them. I might just cough up $30 bucks and catch them here in a couple of weeks just to avoid the conflicts and see a longer set.

Haha I agree totally because I'll be singing the "oohs" and "ahhs" at the top of my lungs.

I might catch them in dallas in april for the better sound and more intimate setting, and then I can miss them at Coach if there's any conflict.

didn't really care for their first album, but i really like contra.

looking at their past setlists, i was kind of upset they were'nt playing "giving up the gun" since it's one of my favorite songs on the new album. this view gives me hope that i'll hear it.

    here's hoping...

Saw a little of them in '08. It was before I listened to the first album well. We thought the show was pretty meh. I'm more excited to see them this time around. I need to get around to listening to the new cd...

I caught them at a small club in Pioneertown last November (you should go there, it's not far from Indio and do visit Joshua Tree) and they were awesome.
BIG conflicts on Friday, but at least not vs Grace Jones...

I was there, too, and I thought they were terrible, even the gay guy. I was there last night to see Dick Dale, now that's talent. Others I have seen there: Billy Corgan, Peaches, Leon Russell, Eagles of Death Metal, and The Donnas.

VW killed it on SNL. I'll be looking forward to seeing them again at Coachella. Salah, please try to keep your underwear on while watching them. I know it will be hard for you but please consider your fellow boardies. I wonder if they'll be on the outdoor stage again.
