I'm not sure how this is possible, but episode 2 is already on the interwebs. I'm gonna watch it right now.
I didn't really like how they made Stannis do that thing, seems out of character. And then the scene at the end with Jon wasn't in the book either but we'll see where that goes.
Both were strongly implied in the books, though. Yes, the Jon scene was a change, but what Craster was doing was strongly implied. It doesn't necessarily change anything going forward, but it was a very dramatic scene, and its another example of the show making explicit what the books had only implied.

I mainly meant the very last second of the episode.

“Music is a safe kind of high" - Jimi Hendrix
“Music is the wine that fills the cup of silence.” - Robert Fripp
“Nothing separates the generations more than music. By the time a child is eight or nine, he has developed a passion for his own music that is even stronger than his passions for procrastination and weird clothes.” - Bill Cosby
Can one of you two explain what you are talking about? Use spoiler text if you want, I've already read the books so you won't be spoiling anything for me, I'm just curious as to what you are talking about so I know going into the episode, specially because I might not be able to watch this episode for another week or so.
What was so out of character but implied in books? And what scene was added?
Thanks
I really need to re-watch the episode again. Cause I am confused a little bit. I noticed how they did things slightly differently which is a given with tv/movies made after books. But I didn't really notice that is was all that different... Or didn't happen in the book.
On a side note - I am taking my time on book 4. I loved book 2 but so far really liked book 3. I may be ahead of myself but I cant wait to see book 3 played out!

What's the code for spoiler text? Imagine that'll come in handy on this thread at some point.

Alice Blue.
Fuck you.
Der! Forgot this board actually has a color button.
Anyway (Ep 2 spoilers for a scene that does not happen in the book) I don't think much will come of it, really, but it was certainly a dramatic ending, both for TV fans and even book readers.

Thanks. And yeah, for the first part....ok maybe it was hinted at throughout the books...but I kind of still imagined that never happened and their relationship was strictly badass on badass duo.
And for the second part...yeah I don't remember that happening at all in the book, I guess it didn't. We'll see how it plays out.
Oh hey all caught up on this. Tempted to watch episode 2 right now, but the HD looks so spectacular on my tv that I think I'm gonna wait.

I am quite excited to unwind on monday night and watch the next episode
Great way to end the episode and leave the story lines. I'm hoping they catch up with the Danaery's story line as its pretty boring to see each desert scene so far. The current scene with her (e202) could have been stretched to something else...

I'm pretty sure the next little while with Dany are going to be boring as fuck.
if her segments are gonna be this boring can she at least get naked?

There are some really interesting parts with Dany that I am looking forward to seeing on screen. I cant remember if they were in book 2 or 3 .. maybe 3. I do believe it will be boring for awhile..

Dany's story is gonna get better once her riders get back from the lands that they have found. Plus the new characters that come along to help in her story are going to catch a lot of people off guard.
Oh my seven hells, they showed Arya's prayer.
Fuck.
And.
Yes.

Renewed for a third season! I wonder if GRRM will finish Winds of Winter before HBO gets to it..
Hopefully none.
So did I completely miss something while reading the books? The whole gay thing with Renly..? I just think it was odd to add that part in there. Are they adding that in there for the sake of
* SPOILER * Margery still being a maiden for Joff?
I thought they might have added Renly being gay for some juicy drama.. which is one area that is not lacking. Any thoughts?
