Thread: HBO greenlights Game of Thrones!

Actually he said that he wouldn't start writing again til the beginning of this year (just too much travelling), although he did have about 100 pages of "finished" chapters that were moved from Dance to Winds of Winter.

I'm sayin 2015, anything earlier would be a welcome shock. Still, that should work for the show, but even if they do two seasons of Winds of Winter (2017 & 2018), they'll prolly have to take a year off for him to finish the last book (or write the scripts concurrently with him finishing the book). Of course, that's all WAAAAAY down the road, so who knows how it'll work out.

wasn't ADWD mostly complete by the time AFFC was and he just chose to seperate them? I think it takes more than 3 years for him to write one of these, there's been huge waits so far in between some of the books.

Yes it could definitely be longer than 3 years. That was just what he said in an interview. He also said that he had to stop giving timelines because he so rarely meets them. I have not read A Dance with Dragons yet... been trying to stretch it out so I do not have to wait 4 years for the 6th one.

Pretty boring episode, with a really lame ending everyone already had that figured out. I get that Americans are dense, but do they really need to spell out every little thing in this show?

I more or less assumed that the two hanging bodies were not those of Bran and the other child. Did anyone make out who they actually were? I know it was mentioned on tonight's episode, but that conversation was inaudible for me.

I also just read that Theon is Lilly Allen's little brother. The more you know.

She wrote a song about him masturbating, so my gf tells me

In the episode where he strings the bodies up, there is a shot right before that scene showing the two farm boys

Some good parts of that episode, but for the most part, they could have kept the Jon Snow/Bran/Danaerys story lines for another episode.

So with Rob - did it seem like he prematurely ejaculated? As soon as they got on the floor he seemed like he had felt the release he was seeking.

    That's an amazing show idea.

Cat litter: Johnny cat is economic, but creates a lot of dust. Those crystal things really help absorb the pee smell, but who knows what those chemicals do to kitty's poor feet? What do you think?

I was thinking the same thing, and that is not usually something I zero in on.

I got really bored listening to her (forget her name) babel on to rob about her life right before they got naked.

I felt it was a good slip of humor in the scene. Her monologue did run a little long, but I also wasn't 100% focused on the scene till she started talking about finding her brother dead in the river

Next episode, Blackwater Bay, this will make or break the season. We need to see some open battle, none of this showing us the aftermath garbage.

Please. This season has been one of the finest television seasons in recent history. It's not going to be made or broken on the back of one episode.

There will be very little, if any at all, open battle scenes. These kind of scenes usually require huge amounts of CGI and/or budget. Premium cable channels/networks are famous for leaving them out.

Haha! I was joking about that on Sunday too. Something about her brother almost drowning really did it for him. But really, that monologue was way too long.

Also, such an "academy award" performance by the Imp talking to his locked up gf when he found out she was safe.

The preview for next weekend looks pretty amazing. I hope HBO is able to pull off a good battle scene.

Have you read the books? The next episode is arguably the most important event of the entire book.

And yes, I know they are infamous for leaving out huge battle scenes, but this would be like telling "The Two Towers" and instead of having the battle for helms deep, they just went to a slow blackout and then showed us all the bodies lying around afterwards.

Yes, I understand that. Doesn't change the fact that it could be an average episode (it won't be) and this would still be a monster of a season.

I think it's a foregone conclusion that this episode will be mostly the House of the Undying and the battle. It's really the largest confrontation in any of the books (I haven't and probably won't finish 5).
