At first I was distraught that the opening scene wasn't the opening scene in the 2nd book (the first episode of season one had an identical first scene as the book), but I was happy to see the poisoning scene eventually show up.
I LOVE how big they made Rob's wolf, that was amazing. Overall, it was a fantastic episode.
I really like Stannis (although I would've appreciated a little more "cold and hard" acting) and Davos is going to be great.

The kid who plays Joffrey is growing up fast. I liked seeing Rob in action becoming kingly. And I'm also not sold on Melisandre yet.

definitely a continuity problem, but that's the price they pay for picking such a dainty looking kid in the first place. They tend to sprout quick. That kid grew must have grown about a foot since the last episode of season 1. Sanza was a bit taller than him last time and now all of a sudden she's shorter.

He grew up fast, but he's the boy king, its expected that he will be irrational and a terrible leader. He only knows to strike down those that threaten him in the slightest manner, I'm interested to see how Sanza will continue to manipulate his decisions for the better.

Even though the episode was all over the place, it got me very excited for this season, many story lines to follow.

The season teaser almost revealed too much though.

I think it's clear he already does realize it. That's the motivation for stamping out any potential Baratheons ASAP. Of course the rumors alone are enough to motivate this, but his snide comments to him mom/aunt suggests he knows it. He's got a mirror.
