Wishing I had HBO right about now. Oh well, it should be up online sometime tonight.

Yay I found the Games of Thrones thread! I really like all the strong female characters in this. And the little guy! Are the books worth reading?

I never read books, probably have finished less than 10 that weren't required for school. But yeah I read this and loved it, so that says something haha.
One evening after Inside The NBA I randomly flipped to this - lo and behold this small blonde broad is getting piped from behind by some swinging dick, I thought I was watching nord porn...and no, I did not 'randomly fap'...
you pervs.
The first couple episodes were bit a heavy on the bawdy sex acts. It is HBO after all.

So, for people who have read the books and are watching the series. Which format do you like better?
Eh, hard to say after 3 episodes. As of now I'd say the books. But they're doing a good job, my main complaint is getting bored with some of these dialogue scenes with uninteresting characters. So far Tyrion and Arya have kicked ass in every scene. The Jon Snow and Dany storylines are finally starting to kick in so we'll see.
And watching this in HD is awesome, such cool scenery.
It's improved every episode and there's so much crazy spectacle to be had, I'm optimistic. I imagine it needs an audience fairly quickly though.
HBO already greenlighted season 2, if they don't have an audience by the end of this season I will be shocked.

I agree. I was a little apprehensive at the outset, but it has been improving substantially each episode.
Apparently the ratings have been improving each week as well... I'm just worried that between this and Boardwalk Empire they are going to have to cancel one... two really expensive shows has never turned out well for HBO (that's why Deadwood was cancelled).
I'll have to watch it myself, but I imagine whatever viewers it has managed to gain are going to be clamoring for another season after the last episode.
I'm just going to keep posting that the latest episode was superior to the previous one until people start watching this.
I admit I couldn't get into the last episode, but I was really tired and kept drifting off. I'll re-watch! All I can remember that seems important is the King's Hand found the king's bastard.

Yay! More things we didn't know already!
I watched the first two episodes last night. I really enjoyed the second episode. I'll probably watch the other three by the end of the week.
Yet another spot on show from HBO. To echo what everyone has been saying...yes, each episode gets better and better. The casting is flawless, and the sets/scenery are fantastic. On par with a theatrical release.
Just watched last nights episode, best one yet! And without any Jon/Dany too.
Those 3 fight scenes were all so good
Fucking hell Lady Stark's sister breast feeding was disturbing.
Vampire Weekend (4/18) ~ Sigur Ros (4/19) ~ Old Crow Medicine Show (4/28) ~ Rolling Stones (5/2) ~ Born Ruffians (5/6) ~ Yo La Tengo (5/9) ~ Rhye (5/10) ~ Baths (6/28) ~ Latitude Music Festival (7/21) ~ End of the Road Festival (8/30 - 9/1)
I was wondering whether or not they would show the breastfeeding...
I was also surprised they showed Loras and Renly outright... that was only hinted at in the books.
There were a bunch of new scenes that weren't in the books in that episode that were spectacular. Robert and Cersei's scene in particular was fantastic.
At least it was a prosthetic boob haha
and then the gay fellatio slurping noises...
The writing for Cersei is spectacular, it's impossible not to hate her but yet it seems there's a very pitiable and human side to her character. Wonderful writing.
