Maybe you should consider not watching it. Perhaps save your energy for endeavors of which you have no preconceived attitude?
Condemning a movie before it's even in production is a bit much, no?
Salles has done some good stuff...
Has anyone seen the sure-to-be-a-cringe-worthy-tragedy Bridge to Terabithia?... I want to know if it's so bad that I should publically mourn the book.
I heard it was pretty much the best movie ever and that everyone should go see it.
I do NOT work for Walden Media.
i dunno...salles is the only saving grace for this film...the list of actors who are being considered to play moriarty are abominable...thats why im pissed...i remember several years ago when Jim Jarmusch tried to make an adaptation with johnny depp and it didnt pan out.

Never heard of it.
I'm watching 1984 right now though.

this movie has been in the works for several years now.... many many fans of the book were up in arms about it and flooded the message boards with complaints about how the book was going to be tarnished forver by a movie that couldnt possibly live up to the book.... but, in true form, they swiftly forgot about it altogether once the initial reaction of righteous indignation wore off.....
what right does anyone have to say that a book should not be made into a movie? they are two seperate entities and if you can not seperate them thusly, then dont fuckin' see it.........
the lurker shows his member to the kids at the old school.
Walter Salles is a good choice. He's one of the few working directors who might be able to do the book justice. Although I hope the project goes more the way of Central Station than The Motorcycle Diaries.
they're going to cast way young for this. mostly unknowns hopefully. walter salles is a good director, all he makes is road movies. this could work. maybe.
thats what im hoping for...unknown. anyone see naked lunch?
anyone want to have a naked lunch?

I'm against it for the simple fact that the prose in that book cannot properly be conveyed to the screen. It just can't. The rhythm and flow of Kerouac, the bnroken sentences, fragmented thoughts, the juxtaposition on the page. Everything is just perfect. While I'm certainly not going to give three shits either way, I'll simply decide not to see it. I already have a movie version of "On the Road" kept in a treasure box in my mind. I don't need anything fukking with that. Glad to see someone attempting it, but I won't be along for this ride.

Wasn't bad, would have been better without the obligatory Hollywood CG, should have left the inhabitants of terabithia to the kid's (and ours) imaginations. That being said, I did feel real emotions towards the end. Kind of touched me....and not like the bad man on the bus either.
You came here to steal our great ideas! You've been foiled, we have none.
Gabe you dont like it cos youre racist"The Motorcycle Diaries" sucked.
Anyways my boss is working it out to produce this movie with Salles (they made City of God together).....when we get the script I'll let y'all know what I think.
uhm, walter salles didn't make city of god....
I thought this thread was going to be a complaint about Angelina Jolie taking the role of Dagny Taggart in Atlas Shrugged...whew. Continue...
He co-produced it, hoss.uhm, walter salles didn't make city of god....
ok, didn't know that...
