For those of you who have been to Coachella before, about how much money would you imagine is needed for all 3 days? I'm trying to save up as much as possible, i'm wondering if i'm going a little overboard.

Everyone's been saying 100-120 bucks a day. I think they're crazy, but that's the general guideline.
You're not going overboard. It's California.
Bring a couple of credit cards.
E
who needs money when you got drugs? You can barter for everything you could possibly need. Honestly just bring a few ounces of coke and I swear you wont have any problem getting anything you want.
I probably spend $20 on food and another $10-16 on water. if you buy merchandise you can add a fortune on to that though. and if you want to buy beer you'd better take out a mortgage.
If you want coke, I dont have any, nor do I do that nasty shit, never have. But I know that its a valuable asset.
If you want to find me, just like drive get off the freeway at washington 1 exit before the coachella exit(jefferson). Head south 2 streets, make a left onto 41st go about a block till you see a camel and thats where Im at.
I have been to the festival every year and I never spend more than $20-30 per day. Of Course, I usually eat a big meal before I make it inside the venue and only buy food once the whole day. The most important thing is to have enough cash for water ($2 per bottle). I usually go by the mantra of 1 bottle per hour. It can get hot and you definitely will need it to stay hydrated.
Just so you know, even though it says in the FAQ that you can't bring food inside the venue the security tends to be lax about that. I usually bring things like Cliff Bars and trail mix every year (especially if my plan is camp out at the main stage for a few acts in a row). Security are super nazis about bringing water inside though. They NEVER let you bring that stuff inside, which is why you need to have enough cash buy lots of it inside the venue.
I was being sarcastic. Getting blown in 100 degree heat isn't my idea of a good time. You think you needed water before...
Water is surprisingly cheaper than you would think. I think it was like 2 or 3 dollars. I went the year when Iggy and the Stooges played and I think I spent 40 bucks that day, try your best to sneak in water. I also went when Radiohead played and that day I spent around 40 or 50 also. My advice is eat before you come, eat one meal there, and then go to a denny's or something after and talk to a bunch of people that were at the festival too. 120 dollars a day is pretty nuts if you ask me.
Haha I had an easier time finding acid, e, and coke then I did finding weed the first year I went.
I spend about $12 a day on water, and $25 a day on food. I usually bring an extra $20 for one t-shirt and an extra $40 for unseen expenses. (replacement hat and sunglasses, a must-have merch item, whatever)
Just Say No to eurotrash nonsense. Rock n' roll will set you free.
20 bucks a day should be pleanty.
my friends and I usually take a couple gallons of water and chug as much as we can on the walk to the gate. it seems to work pretty well, but from what I understand the last two years were a little more mellow(heat wise) then previous years.
I dont give a fuck what you think. WTF is someon going to do because they know where I live.
Second my place is pretty secure, I have a gate and my house is about 100 yard back from the gate, not to mention the Rottweilers who would be happy to see how any intruder might taste.
lol ounces...shit...we need to hang out....more like grams....im poor
Overall, this is a $1k w/end but no more than $200 is going to be spent inside the gates.
Does almost every thread either turn into drugs or sex?
Um yeah sex, drugs and rock & roll. Ever hear of it?

True.
I usually spend more on water than food. I think I bought 1 (maybe 2) bears in 5 years. It's just too hot and I am not interested in getting drunk there.
Your assessment is pretty near mine, though; about $20 for food, but I spend between $20-30 for water.
Merchandise is a whole other ballgame. I have spent a lot of money on the stuff. But, never regretted it.
"Yeah chicks go nuts for that... the male camel toe."
"Yea yea! The camel tail."
I've managed to get a frozen gallon of water (rectangular kind, fits better in a backpack) thats lasted me the whole day, wrap it up in a towel, when they search it, lift your towel with water jug. That alone makes it worth it to me to blow money on food etc. I've never spent more than $30 a day I don't think. BYOD.
