Why doesnt Coachella book any of the old stoner rock bands? This music helped form modern hard rock an alot of it came from the Coachella Valley. They should add Fu Manchu, Kyuss, SloBurn, Unida even Queens of the Stone Age. Who's with me?

How about these [newish] stoner rockers: the Rapture, !!!, LCD Soundsystem, Brazilian Girls, Gotan Project, GBQ, not to mention [old] Happy Mondays: "I'm smellin' dope, fine smellin' dope"!
Hell yeah Wolfmother blew me away last year at Coachella. Luckily they came to my home town of Salt lake like two weeks later and I got to see them in a super small venue with like 100 people because nobosy in Utah knew who they were yet. After the show we smoked the bassist and drummer out. Very good night...very good.
This would have been a nice year for Boris.
Ewwwwww. This thread is gross and don't ever call QOTSA stoner rock again.
The Sword would also be a good act to add. Faxman sorry for calling you a *** in the Rage Protest thread. QOTSA is the diet coke of stoner rock however they are stoner rock. I wanna se MUSE added!!!
as much as I love Queens, thats a good way to put it. They definitely are stoner-rock, but no the same extent as some of the other bands listed. Their self-titled was the most 'stoner-rock' album they released. I'm listening to Welcome to Sky Valley right now and a Kyuss reunion is floating through my head. Could happen, wouldnt put any money on it.

how about CLUTCH. they are probably the best stoner rock band out right now.
I saw John come out with QOTSA on the final night of their last run at the Wiltern, they played two Kyuss songs and I wish so bad he had stayed home so I would've gotten two more QOTSA songs.
Clutch would be sick I totally forgot about them. Down would be cool too. Anything heavy for about 7:00 oclock on sunday then build up till about 10 then let rage fucken destroy the stage. Is Manu Chao(I totaly fucked the name up)any good what kind of music are they....
I'm suprised Boris isn't on the line up this year.
Whiskey Sour
2 oz blended whiskey
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1/2 tsp powdered sugar
1 cherry
1/2 slice lemon
Shake blended whiskey, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a whiskey sour glass. Decorate with the half-slice of lemon, top with the cherry, and serve.
Manu Chao is french musician who sings in french, spanish and english. He also plays many, many types of music from almost flemanco music to reggae and everything in between. He is very hard to classify in a genre. It is very calming music though. Basically, he is very good... but its going to be interesting because Manu Chao is most likely going to be on the mainstage before Rage.
Stoner Rock ......... and no mention of The Black Crowes ?
This thread fails.
Black Crowes aren't stoner rock, they're just stoners who play rock.
Burn outs
Dead Meadow, dudes.
JAMC? Placebo?
How about a Failure reunion? Failure is the ULTIMATE stoner rock band.
I'd really love to see Boris. Here's hoping.
