fir me, rage have ruined my coachella for me this year. i didnt even want to see them, after last year i was willing to travel from ireland again regardless of the line up. then because a load of non-coachella types are coming to see OMFGZ RAGE they bought up my ticket before i could get it. so in conclusion, boo-urns to rage, but even more boo-urns to rage fans

you moron. Haven't you heard? Rage started Coachella. Look up the Coachella 99 poster. And, for whoever said RHCP was this year's Madonna, go to hell. They've played Coachella in '03, they deserve to be there again, despite their aggressive touring schedule. So what. I like music. Don't care who it's by.

I have to somewhat agree with people's pretension as to how much the Sunday crowd is going to be infiltrated by festival virgins and suburban white boy assholes who don't care about the other 37 some odd bands playing and equate a love of RATM and an "understanding of their politics" with moshing and kicking people's asses and generally being a douchebag. However, it's not like anyone is forcing you to go near the mainstage on Sunday.

just curious...do suburban white boy assholes really care about politics?

    maybe rename: 'Raging With Machines'
    or 'I Love My Machine'
or 'WTF There's Nothin Wrong With The Freakin Machine You A'Hole'
    or 'Machines Are Everything'
or 'Be My Machine' (kinda like 'You Dropped A Bomb On Me')
    kinda like Strokes fans

I'm a Rage fan as well. I've also gone to Coachella 4 years, so I'm not strictly in the RATM mindset only. I also can't wait for Explosions in the Sky or Grizzly Bear that day.
Let the moshpit happen, stay clear (as I will) and you'll be fine.

This is going to be my first time comming! I LOVE RATM! I do not think that i would have bought a tix unless they were playing, but now i see the rest of the lineup i am stoked! For all the ppl out there that do not want to get in a moshpit when you see one forming just move! I am one who loves a good pit(when you go down you get right back up, NO HITTING,NO KICKING,JUST PIT LOVE)and i try to respect everyone in and out of the pit at all times!

Mosh pits are all good and fun. Then you get assholes who go to fight and throw punches. Those people deserve to die. Or, to be less extreme, get kicked out. Mosh pits are fun because you get to release an insane amount of energy to music that you love. I less like the pushing and falling, and more like the jumping, moving and headbanging. And my top priority when Im in a mosh pit (beside watching the band) is watching out for other people. People who continue to mosh irregardless are assholes. See, some people just ruin what could be good fun. There is just NO WAY in hell I can stand still while watching Rage. Enough people look at me funny when I sing out loud in my car to them. Ive been waiting 7 years for this. Whos with me at the front!?!?!?
And by the way, if any of you have read my other posts on here, you will know I am here for a number of artists on all 3 days. Not just Rage, although I am stoked beyond belieft that they are there.

Edit: I guess I'm going to be backstage anyhow, so no worries. Just watch out for yourselves and your friends. Take care of each other, and don't LET some stupid shit go down just because of the part of the Rage crowd that's 'out for blood'.

jesus! everyone needs to relax. this is a fucking festival there's bound to be musicians you wouldn't care to see at all...last year everyone's bitchin was about madonna, but shit, no one was forcing anyone watch ANY performance. if you dont give a fuck about rage, stay the fuck away from the main stage on sunday night. there are plenty of other options, shit! the end.
