I remember Coachella 99 like it was yesterday...
just sayin.
ya... RATM started Coachella off, so they belong to be there this year aswell. I cant wait! I think it will get pretty crazy though.
I'll be avoiding the main stage if possible Sunday so I really don't care.
...is this thread the pile of dogshit I stepped in last week?
the only reason im not selling my sunday ticket is Explosions in the Sky.

"Yea yea! The camel tail."
ratm IS coachella. okay...it's gonna be sickER coachella, anyhow. i understand the coachella vibe, but come on. they can coalesce. free love, right? kidding. dont worry though. sunday nights gonna be like the 4th of july. they shoulda synchronized. THAT woulda been sick.
crowd was fine. but from where i was, in the thick of things, i do recall a few mosh pits forming and i believe i lost a shoe at some point (by the way, i was a fool for wearing FLIP FLOPS to a Rage performance) and got shoved around somewhat. oh well. i will be standing WAY in the back this time.
COACHELLA 99-01-05-06-07-08-09-10-11-12
whats with the purists who think they define what 'coachella' is and what it isn'?
coachella is about music, and if you don't like a kind of music, you simply have a choice to be somewhere else
so...no, they're not this years madonna
no they are not
The Glitter Freeze
Coachella 99-10 Vet, the run has ended in 2011
I hate all these anti-rage threads...you guys posting these are worse than the madonna fans last year.
Seriously, people are getting way bent out of shape about RATM "ruining" the festival for everyone. The same whining was heard about Madonna and Tool last year and nothing really happened. Most of the Madonna fans arrived late and stayed in the Saraha tent before Paul Oakenfold even started his set. As for the Tool fans, some of them might have been rude during the end of Massive Attack's set, but I didn't notice them at any other point in the festival. It's not like they were standing around and heckling Metric, Mates of State or Seu Jorge. Most of the people who like Tool don't like a majority of the other bands on the bill and the ones that do are the more open-minded fans who wouldn't ever be rude (like myself). I suspect RATM will bring the same kind of fans. Some of them will be crazy fanatics who only want to see Rage, but you're not likely to run into them at 90% of the other acts, unless you kill 5 hours staking out a spot in the front row of the main stage.
In '99 I never once felt like Rage fans ruined anything. That's probably because I didn't notice them until I watched Rage's set. Even then there was only a couple of weak mosh pits and not much else. Besides, even if their fans are annoying, just watch something else. It's not like they are some crazy savages who are going to go all crazy and start raping and pillaging the festival. (Although, I am sure there are some on this board who would beg to differ.)
I am a die hard Rage fan, but that doesn't mean I am going to be disrespectful to any other bands or fans. I am going to see Rage but it is a music festival and I will be checking out all the sights and sounds.
TIME TO ROCK YOUR FACE OFF!
I'm really shocked at the anti-Rage faction, its size, and its vociferousness.
It's a major, surprise reunion of a seminal band from the youth of people who are now ages 22-30. That pretty much describes the ideal Coachella headliner.
Just Say No to eurotrash nonsense. Rock n' roll will set you free.
