I am really enjoying the 2 Bears essential mix. I am disappointed to read that the Maceo Plex EM was dull. I have really enjoyed a lot of the tracks he has come out with. I'm going to listen later and form my own opinion.

I'm only 30 minutes into Scuba's and it's already exceeding my expectations... which weren't very high. Hopefully the rest holds up, judging by the t/l it should.

edit: finally completed the full mix and the last hour - particularly from 1hr30min on, is excellent. And then the last track hah

Goddamn Scuba's mix is fire. I've been groovin' to it for the past 2 days, I'd also recommend checking out his 2011 mix live from Sonar, I listened to that first and it was great. In my opinion Scuba and L-Vis 1990 are tied for top mix of the year so far...

an Essential Mix that DOES have longevity is probably Jokers EM...still so good after a few months. anyone know any artists similar to Joker?!
Ok, I LOVE Joker as a producer, his sound is fucking awesome. But did anyone else think his transitions were questionable, and at times absolutely terrible? I watched a video from his set at Beyond Wonderland 2011 and the mixing was pretty bad too. One user commented that his mixing is just "quirky " and that you should never underestimate Joker. Not really sure what the fuck that means.

I also dj, and though I'm not saying that I'm great by any stretch of the imagination, I think I can tell a solid transition from a shaky one, and there were quite a few times during Joker's mix when I was surprised at how bad it was. I think there was even one point where he transitioned by slowly turning down the volume on one track and just pressing play to start the next, that really bothered me haha.

I just saw Martyn's EM is on 3/17. I saw him in Vancouver on Saturday at a RBMA event and HOLY SHIT he was fucking excellent. Granted, it was a live set but I'm sure his EM won't disappoint.

That Twin Peaks intro gave me shivers. I didn't even plan on listening to the whole mix in one sitting but I couldn't pull myself away. In the words of Pete Tong, truly "spell-binding".
