Default Record Store Day is April 17th

I dont know about you guys but I got a ton of goodies last year and I'm glad its back at Coachella. Just got an email back regarding titles-
Titles are starting to be confirmed now, and as they roll in (which they’ll start doing pretty quickly) we’ll be updating the site (www.recordstoreday.com). Keep checking there! Glad you’re looking forward to Record Store Day and Coachella!
    Carrie—Record Store Day Crew

and another one from the co-founder-
We aren’t ready to release a list of vinyl titles yet because we are still working on them. That said, there is going to be some really great stuff so I think you’ll be psyched. Some of the bigger artists we are working with on RSD vinyl include the Flaming Lips, Them Crooked Vultures, Hold Steady, Beastie Boys, the Gorillaz, the Black Keys. Nothing is set in stone yet but we will make announcements pretty soon.

The vinyl would warp in lockers. They actually stored them for you if you wanted to, it was $5 extra if you kept em more than a day. Its free if you pick em up the same day.

I chose to leave my purchases with them (in this case Zia) for the weekend. I dont remember if i paid for that but if I did it was 5 dollars. Picked them up Sunday after it had cooled down then stored them in my locker. You can also have them ship your records to you, although, I do not remember there being any insurance options on the shipping.

My brother was so concerned about shopping for vinyl last year that he skipped the last part of Saturday night so that he could buy records.

Lesson: Don't be like my brother. Shop early, dance late.

It's pretty safe they have an air conditioned area for the records to be stored in. If the air conditioner goes out it's over rover.

I know folks who purchased vinyl in 07(pretty hot year) and just kept the records wrapped in blankets/sleeping bags in their tents. All was well.

I've been a record collector in the desert for well over a decade. Just keep your records out of the direct sunlight and you should be alright. Many times I've had records in my car on a 100+ degree day and had no problems. Last year we kept our records in the cab of my truck, again no problems.

Last year they had Radiohead's Paranoid Android and Street Spirit 7inches. PA was clear blue, Street Spirit was white. I got those, one Smiths 7inch, and Talking Heads - Fear Of Music.

The only thing worse than Muse on vinyl is Muse on any other medium.

I would be glad to pick up some of the more limited stuff for people that can't make it. I wish I could have found one of the colored Beck/ Sonic Youth splits from last year. They are going for crazy prices now.

i sold my sonic youth splits (not colored)... i offered them to katt both for 25 including shipping... they ended up selling for 50 for the pair on ebay.
